Can flex seal tape over up patches on iron roof?

Sticky residue removing it ? I need to seal an outdoor box from the elements & be able to crack the seal and check the components from time to time.

I would not recommend using Flex Tape if you need to open a box sealed with it. Once it adheres to something it is pretty much there to stay. I used it to temporally stop a leak in a copper pipe. When I tried to remove the tape I had to use a razor blade to cut and scrape the tape away from the pipe.

Question 3

One reviewer said this stuff does not adhere to vinyl. Is that true or not?  I just ordered some to repair vinyl. Also, how thick is it?

Flex Tape is about 1 millimeter thick. Flex Tape does adhere to some vinyl materials. It ultimately depends on whether or not the vinyl contains what are called poly-olefins. A Poly-olefin is a polymer which by its very nature resists proper adhesion. Different plastics and vinyl can contain differing amounts of this polymer and therefore we recommend testing on a small area first. Flex Tape has excellent adhesion on many surfaces including PVC, acrylic, metal, steel, copper, aluminum, wood, ceramic, porcelain, tile, glass, rubber, fiberglass, stucco, plaster, stone, cement, concrete, dry wall, EPDM roofs, some plastics, fabrics, some vinyl and so much more. Some materials may take up to 24 hours to reach maximum hold. We recommend testing on a small section before the complete application. Depending on the amount of damage, it may help to apply the tape to both sides or in multiple layers as needed, since it does adhere to itself.
