Very useful but also outrageously fun, to be honest.
I was comparing prices for a number of models and this one seemed to thread the needle the best between number of good reviews, functionality, affordability, and durability. Once I got it in my hands I couldn't put it down for the next hour. Guys, this thing is honestly a blast. Calibrated correctly it's very accurate, though it does take some attention to details to make sure you're on the right setting. A quick tap to the control pad helps you cycle through a large number of visual options to help color-assess your surroundings, which is very useful considering red/green color disorder runs in my family. My dad gave it a whirl and was able to choose the setting that skirted that problem (he chose the blue theme) which really tickled me to watch as he usually struggles a lot with color-coded electronics. That alone made me want to come on here and give it 5 stars. I bought this thing specifically to ferret out cameras/electronics in places I visit, as well as detect where heat and cold air pools in my house, and it's worked flawlessly for both. It's even helped my elderly parents find their phones a few times in the clutter of their room, which made us all laugh. Battery life is more than decent and honestly the ability to take snapshots of what you see, versus having to hold up a camera to point at the screen, is probably the best feature. I don't know, I was more than satisfied with this thing. It fulfilled my expectations and I had a great time seeing everything it could do. Highly recommend.

Overall, the TR10 provides excellent value for its price. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable thermal imaging solution.

Good thermal camera for a great price
I've been using a first generation Seek thermal module for 11 years. It has worked pretty well, but requires an adapter to use with a modern phone and of course drains my phone battery when using. I believe it uses the same technology today in the base camera, so it should be comparable to the current product. It is hard to compare a standalone camera to one that uses an app on a phone, so I'm not really going to compare all of the features - mainly about the performance. The first image below is the TR10 and the second the Seek. They are using different color palettes, but you can also see the difference in detail between them. Also, for the Seek I was standing back at 2x the distance - I had to move much closer with the TR10 in order to fill the view, which I think also hurts the Seek for details. You are so far back because the image is "zoomed" in. Performance of the TR10 has been great, especially the speed in which it takes pictures. I also don't miss the constant clicking noise from the Seek. Now, the camera isn't without a few complaints - all of which could be fixed in a software update. The red for the heat temperature is hard to read on most backgrounds, hence me using the green in one shot. The image size it outputs if 240x240. The seek uses 960x1280 and while yes, that is just a very zoomed in image based on the sensor size, it is nice having a larger picture. My last little issue is regarding the Emissivity - there is a chart in the manual, but I don't carry that around with me everywhere. It would be great to include the presets in the menu. Small details, nothing worth removing a full star, and of course half stars aren't allowed.

Good for home energy savings
Works great for using around the house to find areas that are missing insulation and finding air leaks around doors, windows and other areas. I found several big holes between the back of my walls and exterior brick veneer that cold air was pouring in through and poorly insulated rim joists. The temperature readings are inconsistent and inaccurate on some materials even when changing the settings as indicated in the manual. Using the settings in the manual make it even less accurate most of the time. It works great for seeing temperature differences but if you need to know the exact temperature of something you should probably get a more expensive unit. You cant beat the price for this one for using it around the house for energy savings. Its well worth the $120

Works as described
It works like I hoped it would. Great sensitivity. Pull trigger to take a picture. The computer interface is a bit cumbersome.

Main use for this has been 1) looking for air locks in my radient in floor heating (Magic for that) and 2) checking window installs for gaps in spray foam. It's also been useful for tracking down a few places where animals had burrowed in and pushed the insulation back.

Should have purchased long ago. Found a warm circuit breaker in my home panel. checked for poor insulation around areas of home Going to save me some money. Going to use to troubleshoot a poor running motorcycle come spring time.

Works exactly as expected, worked perfectly right out of the box. Found a few cold spots where insulation hadn’t been done properly. Annoyed our cats following them arround to see the little heat prints they left behind. :)
