While these plates seem nice and look as described, I'm giving a three-star review because of an inconsistency in the description. The item details for these plates clearly state that they are microwavable, but on the back of each one there is an icon indicating that they are not microwave safe. I don't know why they would be listed as such, but this is very disappointing considering that I bought these specifically because they were microwavable. Most melamine plates are not. I live with an elderly person who doesn't always remember what can go in the microwave and what can't, and I don't have time to monitor which plates he is using. Please update the description and don't lie; microwaving things that you shouldn't can be a major health risk for many reasons. The plates themselves are nice, the colors are vibrant and pretty, so I probably won't return them, but still very disappointed in the false information.

Update- I returned the first set described below and ordered a second. The second set was fine. Review of first set: I tried to submit the message below on the French Bull Website but it would not go through. I ordered a set of 6 striped dessert plates through amazon. I received 2 of the same plate instead of 6 different plates as shown in the images. Also 2 of the plates had a small black spot in a light colored stripe. It looks like a manufacturing mistake. Is this normal?

3 stars — inaccuracy in the description makes it difficult to trust manufacturer's claims These are described as "6-inch melamine plates" and "BPA free." However, since they are significantly larger than six inches (closer to seven), I wonder if we can trust that these are true-melamine or BPA-free. (This might not be a problem with "French Bull," but instead with their suppliers.) The colors look vibrant and the plates seem solid enough.
