Absolute Best Food Processor!
This is the absolute best food processor! It has a Pulse Button, different speeds - High and Low. It slices vegetables. Above all it is quiet!! It also stores all of its own parts.

Quiet and Efficient
The media could not be loaded. After much research, I chose this unit to replace my over 10 year old Black & Decker 10 cup food processor. As long as I can make pie crust with 1-1/2 cup of flour and a stick of butter, this unit is big enough. My test was to grind dried Cuban bread into crumbs - which is what I was doing with the old unit started to smell like burning wires. This Kitchen Aide is SO quiet compared to the B&D and a previous Cuisinart. The big wide control buttons work well (the last unit was pulse or on, only those two). I like the "low" setting as you can gauge what level you need to continue with without potentially obliterating something before your eyes! The blade is quite sharp so I feel confident in its effectiveness (but will update this review if anything changes). I like that the bowl sits firmly on the base, and the tilt off lid is nice, and it does remove altogether for cleaning. One should hold onto the unit while running it, as it "danced" a little when I let go. The oil shoot in the "pusher" is an interesting feature and since this does run on low, I may try it. It is supposed to all store together, but I rarely use the shredder it just put the lid upside down and the rest in the bowl. Photo to show how the cord is stored as it is not addressed in the manual.

Lid secures very easily compared to other brands.
I bought it for my wife. She has a Quisinart but always struggles with the lid mechanism to the point that she doesn’t use it often. I found the replacement lids to be quite expensive. The Kitchen Aid is a compact heavy unit that secures the lid with 2 levers. And the red color matches her other accessories for an accent color.

Good but will be enhanced
Works very good but you have to peel and cut in small pieces to feed the machine. It’s easy to clean, only handle with care the knives. The device to cut fries is not included and hard to find separately.

Useful, Attractive
Useful and attractive. I've been needing a food processor for years and finally got one. This works really well, and I appreciate that you can use it to store food in it too. Powerful and easy to clean. Doesn't leak at all.

1 Year Update - It's worse than I thought
ONE YEAR LATER: I'm still disgusted with this food processor. As stated in my original review - IT'S CHEAPLY MADE.In less than 1 year, I had to replace the bowl. The flimsy handle created a problem with the screws on the bottom & the connection was lost - the blender stopped working. Since it was within the one year warranty - Kitchenaid replaced the bowl.I'm a baker. If you like to bake and make pie crust, this food processor is a nightmare. The bowl is too deep & the blender doesn't pull from the bottom well enough to mix the butter before it starts to soften. Speed is key when using cold butter or other cold ingredients. You can see the different grades of mixing when using this for crust of other grainy mixes. I have to knead by hand to get the dough well blended. It's also terrible for cookie dough & bread dough. Again, the bowl is too high & doesn't blend well. It shakes when using for tough batches. It's great for dry ingredients or for use for 2-3 cups.I will be buying another food processor bc this one is horrible for my needs.I purchased this food processor before Christmas 2022. I had a Cuisinart for 15 years that I loved. The lid broke and it would’ve cost me almost half the price of a new one. I decided it was time to buy a new food processor. I have several KitchenAid products that I have had for 15 to 18 years. I love my stand up blender and I would never trade it in. I love my immersion blender and use it all the time. Both have stood up over the years. The obvious choice for me was to buy a KitchenAid food processor because the brand has always been reliable. When looking at the pictures on Amazon, I was not incredibly impressed with the design. I decided to go with the brand that has always been good to me, the KitchenAid. When I took the product out of the box, I was still not impressed with the design. The first time I used it, I was happy bc it has the power I need. Fast forward…. Now that I’ve used it a few times, I’m incredibly disappointed with the construction. The plastic is cheap , the handle on the bowl is incredibly flimsy, the bowl itself is a thin cheap plastic, and the lock looks like something you would see on a child’s toy. I love the power that this food processor has. It does the job that I need it to do but I’m waiting for it to fall apart in my hands. I’m at a tipping point - I’m considering packing it up and sending it back. The lesson that I’ve learned from buying this product is that nothing is made to last anymore. In the future when purchasing an appliance I will go to the store, look at several brands, touch them, take them apart and evaluate the construction before I purchase anything online. Would I recommend this product? I don’t think so. I’m incredibly disappointed in the construction.

I like it but it's a different version than older models you may be used to
My older model broke and while I don't use a food processor all that often, the times I do make it worth it to have one and I'd prefer a decent model over some cheap version that won't perform. My older model was a 13 cup bowl that actually had several bowls nested inside so you could either do the whole 13 cups or size down. These new configurations just have the one bowl. The older models had a box for the accessories; this one has everything stored on board. And that's nice for storage, but it is like a puzzle putting it all back together. They do give you several diagrams showing you how to put it all back, but it is slightly tricky at first. Instead of sliding around to come on and off, the cover pops open and can be taken off the base by pulling on the hinge side.I've used it twice so far, once to pulverize cookies to use as a pie crust and another time to chop roasted vegetables to make salsa. Both turned out great. The pulse is nice and steady and did both jobs equally well. There was no leakage and I think part of that is due to the new design where the bowl snaps down into place rather than sliding back and forth to lock. Also, the new "nut" in the middle of the bowl to hold the chopping blades is sealed so it would be harder for liquids to get inside and eventually leak out.I wasn't unhappy with the older model but this is a nice upgrade. Most of the parts go in the dishwasher but you wash the blades by hand (as always). Takes up vertical space in the cupboard but since all the accessories are on board, you're only taking up that space.
