Perfect size! Top tier of the jar world!
Weck jars are top of the line, rightfully so. These particular size jars were purchased for my sourdough starter and to store some other items. It was highly recommended and now I understand why. As far as price goes, very fair price for what i paid, two days later they were double the price (??hhhmm)For sourdough starter, these are a dream (as is the tulip liter). The wide mouth and shape of the jar make mixing and clean up hassle free. I’m not sure how these are used with “canning” so I cannot review that. I can tell you that this jar seals shut, nothing is getting in or out once the seal is placed and clips are on. I highly recommend.

Use for sourdough starter
I don’t use for canning yet, but for sourdough starter is great, it was a great deal for four of them

Super versatile!
I have really enjoyed using these jars over the past year! They are super versatile and sturdy. Just be careful to make sure you don't lose the little clips and seal piece. I use these jars for smoothies, quick pickling, and other storage in the fridge. Love them!

Perfect jars. I highly recommend.
These jars are amazing! I'm using them for my Sourdough starter and it's so easy to stir and mix inside with the wide opening. The lid (with or without the clips) is perfect.I would use them for storing dry or wet items. To make pickles or anything else where you need easy access. They would also make a beautiful flower vase for fresh or dried flowers!Ball jars work well for jam. I've used them for years.But for almost everything else these are way above.Do not hesitate to buy them.

Weck Mold Canning Jars #743
I like Weck Canning Jars. the 743 Mold jar is a 3/4L jar. The shape is tapered at the bottom.The difference between the 743 mold jar and the 745 tulip jar: 743 is a tapered jar that is 3/4L and the 745 is a rounded bottom shape that holds 1L.I use both the 743 and the 745 for sourdough starter and storage. Great jars!
