Herpotherm Neo Cold Sore Treatment Device – Long Lasting and Reusable Heat Pen (Herpotherm neo)

This is brilliant! I don’t tend to leave reviews but I wanted to for this.I had the previous model of this year ago and lost it so I purchased this newer model and it still works so well.As soon as I feel a tingle of a cold sore appearing I use this heat pen and it minimises its size massively! I end up with much smaller cold sores (that don’t spread) and they can be much easier to manage and less painful.5/5 stars, buy it if you suffer with cold sores frequently.

I've used a similar gadget for mosquito and bug bites which was very effective, which lead me to try this. Yes it gets hot but that's the whole purpose and if you can't take a bit of pain for 2 or 3 seconds, this isn't for you. I used it yesterday in about 5 places on my lip, some places I used it twice. Once you get over the fear and withstand that heat once or twice, you soon understand that it's bearable and the hot burning sensation goes away within seconds. As for it's usefulness, I'm quietly confident. After using it last night and then smothering my lip with an Aciclovir 5% cream, my cold sores are feeling under control. Some were already formed and a couple had just started to blister. Not big sores but more than I usually experience for some reason. Anyhow, I don't feel the need to use the Herpotherm Device today and my cream seems to be doing the job. I think it had some effect but will have a better idea on my next outbreak, where I'll be able to use it at an earlier stage. I don't regret the purchase and it will probably be suitable for insect bites too.

I started developing a sore on Monday, so I ordered a herpotherm which was delivered Tuesday night and noticed how much it helped reduce the itchyness and tingling. When I woke up the sore was dry and crusted with no issues with pain and the sore was controlled to the size when i first applied. Its now Thursday and it's on its way out, I should have bought one sooner !!!!

Seems like it worked well, prevented the cold sore from getting more inflamed/spreading/getting angrier.After one use, the sore practically scabbed over.I feel like maybe a scar has been left, whether this is the cold sore falling off too early or from this, unsure but I'd have a scare over a sore any day

This works so well but only if you apply at very first sign of a cold sore. I don’t get a ‘tingle’ personally, I just get a bump. If I apply this immediately, and then once an hour after that, the blister never forms. It’s an absolute miracle worker. On the flip side, the other day I was walking to work and felt the tell-tale bump but couldn’t apply the pen until I got home - it was too late by then and the cold sore was only slightly minimised and still went through the whole blister cycle.

I don't understand how but I feel this device actually ended up making my coldsore worse. I used it at the first sign of potential infection, when I had a slightly red itchy area at the corner of my mouth, and I used it again on day 2 and 3. The blisters formed faster than normal, appearing quite obviously by the end of the first day, and I am now on day 5 and it has been more painful than usual since day 1 and still on this day. The blisters are also still at the horrible weepy/crusty stage when usually they have scabbed by now. So for this reason I don't trust the effects of this device, even though the logic behind it sounds sensible.

I suffer from painful cold sores if I get tired and run down or nervous about an upcoming event. I read the reviews and thought I would give anything a try if it helps reduce an outbreak. I have used it on many occasions as soon as I feel the tingle on my lip. Then I use it every hour for half a day and so far a cold sore has not developed. I keep it with me at all times as you never know when that tingle will happen. It is hot but the heat only lasts for seconds and there is a timer so you would never use it for longer than recommended. It is easy to use and the size of a lipstick.

This works so well for me I’ve now got 4(!) so I’ve always 1 at hand. Daily I check for stabbing sensations around my lips (that’s how mine start), as chronic illness just has me crazy susceptible to *lots* of cold sores. & it blows my mind that since using these ‘heat pens’ I’ve prevented every single sore from coming thru!! That’s incredible given that other offerings just help heal (allegedly) rather than prevent. Fantastic little tool, even the feisty blisters that I think ‘no chance this 1 can be beaten’ - well, thanks to this heat gadget every 1 has been annihilated for me ! 💯/💯
