Kirby210097 Machine End, Hose G5

This part broke on my Kirby. I started looking for it with the hose attached. This was much cheaper by itself. We broke this broken piece of the hose and my husband was able to put this new piece on the hose.Much cheaper than buying it with the hose connected.

It fit like the factory piece. I’m pretty sure this is an OEM unit. Definitely looks exactly the same as the original except different colors but the new one was still a Kirby color. Just a different generation. Worked well. You don’t just slap them together but that was never the intent. The Kirby stuff is made for longevity and is built for it. Replacing this end gives you a sense of how the whole vacuum is built.

I was a bit skeptical to order this part based on the majority of the reviews, but gave it a try based on some recent positive reviews. While it does not come with instructions on how to install, I looked up a YouTube video and was able to remove the broken one from my hose and install this part in about 10 minutes! I wasn't expecting it to be so quick and easy! It is a great value and beats having to by the whole hose for more than double the cost.

Worked as a replacement when I broke the tab off the original, but plan on hiring The Hulk to actually make the switch. This should come with the hose screw already attached. Had to use a screwdriver with quite a bit of force to push the hose screw end out and also deform it to go back into the new end. I was afraid I was going to permanently deform or puncture the plastic. Seems to have recovered ok.

The only drawback to this product is the installation. I didn’t have a problem but I could see someone with arthritis or limited use of hands could have difficulty. You have to bend or fold the hard plastic coulimg on the hose to remove the old piece and then put on the new. I watched a YouTube video ad didn’t have any issues. It’s exactly like the old one and therefore works well.

Direct replacement for my vacuum. For people that don't know how to install just heat it up with hot water and carefully push the old hoes out the housing from the inside with a blunt object (like the handle of a screwdriver) and the old one will pop off and the new one will go right in if the hose is still warm. At least that's how I get it
