I ordered this dutch oven in the beautifulred color to bake sour dough bread. It is a fabulous dutch oven! I’m so happy with the quality of it at such a great price. It heated up well and baked my bread to perfection. I’m so pleased with this purchase. Can’t wait to bake other things in it.

I’ve had my eye on a Dutch Oven for eons. I could not justify the cost of the popular brand. And I’m glad I didn’t. This Dutch Oven is everything any other brand offers. Looks good. Heavy as can be - enamel is perfect. I have a chicken cooking happily away on the stove right now. Very happy with this purchase including the quality, price point and functionality. Note: I order the 7 quart - a 5.5 would have been sufficient - so maybe I get two?? Would not hesitate to buy or recommend this brand.

Thus oven is as good as my $400 Lecrueset. I made a pot of sauce and drop meatballs, from stove top to oven, and it was perfect. Clean up was a breeze,the enamel is beautiful. Heavy durable from stove top to oven, non stick enamel, nice seal on lid to oven, next I'm making my pot roast....5 hrs at 275° I recommend this 5.5 Dutch oven and the color is beautiful dark green! Also the pot holders, silicone trivet, and cookbook where a nice bonus.

This dutch oven has a good amount of weight to it but not too heavy, enamel appears to be well made, I used a high point oil to season the cast iron that shows on the lid and rim, heated it in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour to tryto help prevent rust on the cast iron and I didn't notice that oil had dripped both inside and outside the pan but it was easy enough to get the brown oil stains off with dawn, hot water and the white scrubby that came with it. The dutch oven held up well to 400 degree heat( My choice not to go to recommended temp as it was not needed at this time. Appears to have a good capacity and size for making a decent amount of food and have leftovers depending on how many your serving.I haven't used this dutch oven yet to cook but I will update as soon as I do.I did notice some sticky residue on the cover rim from the oil. That was kind of a pain to try to get off even after applying dawn with my fingers and letting it sit for a bit but it's still there. I'm trying to figure out if the color that I am seeing is from the oil or from the paint color. It is sitting on my burner and it adds a pop of color to my stove.

Waited a long time to finally buy one of these. So versatile and and pretty. I donated three different pots after buying this. Yes, you can bake bread in it!

I bought this Dutch oven to bake sourdough so I don’t ruin my creuset now that they’re $450 each I don’t want to replace it. This worked just as well!! Was able to preheat it at 450 and the bread came out great! I can’t testify to its longevity but it feels sturdy, the sides are thicker than my creuset, and the color or gorgeous.

I love this pot so much. Ive been using it constantly since I got it and I'm making soups and stews even though it's still fairly warm out. The color of the pot is so bright and vibrant and with the coating, it's easy to clean leaving it looking new each time. No scrubbing needed. It's also really heavy and thick and transfers heat to get my food cooked perfectly without burning the bottom. Super durable and the lid traps in the heat nicely too

Why buy le creuset? This is a solid, beautiful Dutch Oven at a fraction of the cost. Color is true to the picture. Four stars for (similar to other reviews) a chip on the handle. It doesn’t affect functionality, so I’ll keep it. I tried to reach out to the “support site” for the vendor for a solution, but it defaults out. In effect, there’s no way to contact them.
