Smoothskin muse intelligent IPL hair removal..............A hand held device which uses light pulses to stop/seriously restrict hair growth.The unit is one which needs to be used plugged in, a short plug and lead goes into a transformer unit, which has a flex of around around 2metres which goes into the end of the unit, all are provided in the box, along with a bag to keep the unit in.Who does it work for?.........This works on pale to darkish olive skin tones, as it uses the colour pigment in hair to work on the hair needs to have a good contrast to the surrounding skin.Use.......This is pretty simple to use, the hair needs to be shaved/ removed before you can use the unit.You then point and press.... to make sure I cover the area correctly ( when doing large areas like my legs) I like to draw a little section on my skin with a white eyeliner, I then zap here and when it’s all been “zapped”I put a tick in that section, draw a new section and move on....no doubling up on my work and no questioning myself as to if I’ve done that area this way!It is not a strong as salon treatments ( these are licensed, which home machines are not, so have to be milder).Effectiveness.............This is not my first IPL unit and I know that this hair removal system works for me...I have brown hair, blue eyes and light olive skin, I have fairly fast hair growth on both head and body.It takes 4 weeks of treating the area weekly to stop hair growth and then a maintenance “zap”once a month for upkeep. If I get lazy and stop the upkeep zaps the hair comes back and I have to start again with the weekly “zaps” until I have slowed the hair growth again.Once I started using the machine I noticed immediately that my hair growth slowed down, I still got some stubble/growth but less- this was particularly noticeable on my face ( where I have a mild obsession with the ugly “sprouting” chin hairs growing older has brought me).... after 2 weeks of use I no longer need to pluck my facial hair daily, I can leave it for 2/3 days and when I do pluck it the hair comes out without the usual fight, a small tug and the hair is out and with noticeably less pain.Feel.......If you have sensitive skin you may wish to use the gentle setting-( the feather symbol on the top on the unit.) this will lessen the effectiveness of each “zap” and so it will take longer to get results.If you want to quick results and don’t have sensitive skin the normal setting can give a little sting - noticeable on my face with the first use and similar to being flicked by a warm elastic band ...though by a few uses I didn’t notice it as much and on my less sensitive legs I hardly felt a thing even from the get go.What do I think........This is an investment item, as someone who suffers from embarrassing facial hair that I have paid to remove it is cost effective for me and less embarrassing than having to involve someone else in this process. It also gives me control over this problem.It does take time to work and using it on large areas is time consuming, but it is definitely worth it for me as it takes away the need to pluck facial hair daily.

What on earth is the point? i mean you have to use this every single day for months on end...and if you stop using it the hair starts to grow back! Just wow. get a razor...I thought that once it was gone that was it.This is well built, works on many skin tones, is east to hold and use being well weighted. but what a lot of time and effort for the same result. You need to have more money than sense i think to use this. in fairness all of this makes it better than others i have seen and used so it gets the extra star.
