My granddaughter learned about Peregrine falcons at her school and wanted one of these after she saw a friend had one. She loves it. She can relate to it, and plays frequently with it.

The 8,000 mile journey of a tundra peregrine written in simple English appropriate for children. Page 3 has a map that illustrates the bird's journey from Alaska to Argentina. Good for pre-reading questions. There are no photos of the peregrine, but beautiful color illustrations of the peregrine as well as the forests, rivers, and mountains from the bird's view as she is flying over them. The writing is descriptive "The peregrine flies over a forest that looks like an enormous green ocean." Can be a nice lead into what a rain forest is and why it might look like an ocean from way above. Page 32 gives interesting facts about this specific peregrine. A great book!

Beautiful story that draws the reader into the story of this peregrine falcon and her arduous migration journey. It’s an excellent resource for teaching about migration and a beautiful example of the amazing-ness of animals. We are glad to have this title a part of our home library as it was a treat for the kids and for adults both.

My son LOVES peregrine falcons and this story of migration really helps him to understand the cycle of life and how this magnificent bird lives its life. I read it to him at bedtime at least a few times a week. You don't have to like birds to like the story. It's about a journey and the activities along the way.

Beautifully illustrated and well-written with one page per section of the Peregrines long journey. My 5 year old son loves Peregrine Falcons and the story kept him and my 6 year old daughter entertained as well as being very interesting and educational for me too! There is also a great map at the beginning for us to see and marvel at the distance of this migration and some facts about Peregrines at the back. Very enjoyable!

My son is a huge fan of PBS' Wild Kratts. Episode one is all about Peregrine Falcons. Being from New England we have gone as far as to hike particular trails in New Hampshire b/c peregrine falcons are known to live there. My son loved this book. He especially liked learning about all the other animals and habitats a peregrine falcon encounters during it's migration.

I bought this for a 5 year old who excited by peregrine falcons because they are the FASTEST ! Wheeee .......He really enjoyed the illustrations and text. Grandma liked it because the bird is a "she" and she is fast and determined and does what she needs to achieve her amazing goal. Beautiful illustrations and real.

I bought this for my 4 year old son who loves birds. He loves the story and it is also scientifically accurate. I strongly recommend this for children between 4 and 7

This is definitely a collectible. Suitable for a 6 - 8 year old.
