Great product, great taste & great deal!
I was disappointed to read over some of the other revies on here about Great River's Teff. I've been ordering it regularly, in bulk, for over a year now & have never had a less than perfect batch. Flavor is great & it goes well with baking & even in savory dishes to thicken sauces. And the teff makes a great bread too (I like to mix with some buckwheat & almond flour), and even a good hot breakfast cereal. I have received my order in the packaging shown in the photo & I have also received orders in a plain, brown bulk package (same packaging as in the photo but it's just all brown). I know another reviewer mentioned the packaging as an issue, but it didn't bug me at all. And it's still labeled as to what it is, package date, etc. Our family is gluten free due to some severe allergies to wheat & other gluten foods, but we have never had a reaction with this company's flours (though we have with other company's like Udi's for example). If you're on the fence about ordering, go for it - you'll be hard pressed to find a better price on teff flour (esp at 20 lbs with free shipping!) - look around at what other companies are charging. And it's worth taking the chance. I'll keep ordering from Great River until they stop selling or I grow it myself!

Full of Sand
I love Great River and purchase lots of whole grains from them in bulk and this is the first time I've had a problem. I purchased the whole teff grain due to the great price. We have been eating whole teff for years as a hot cereal but never from Great River. We purchased several boxes to share with friends and family. All called to complain about the sand and little rocks and one was afraid she may have chipped her tooth. When I tried it, it was indeed full of sand or mini rocks. I've been eating teff for years and it is always soft and creamy. There is something very wrong with this product. I was, however, able to get a refund, so be sure to contact the company or Amazon if you have problems.

Horrible quality - filled with dirt
This product is horrible. It is gritty, as if there's dirt or sand mixed in with the grain. Compared to Bob's Red Mill version of the same thing, this is very much inferior. I'll never trust this company again.

One Star
Full of sand. I called, Becky said they would send me a new box. They never did. Not recommended

High quality 👌
I can assuredly say that my one purchase of Teff flour is nothing but the best of quality. It's unfortunate that so many people experienced that disappointment but I'll be purchasing again until I experience the same, then I'll come back and update.

Clean and As Expected
Some reviews years ago complained about an infected batch. But so far mine seems perfect. I don't make injera, instead I mix the teff flour with wheat gluten to make a fluffy flat bread that I can eat as is or with vegetable toppings.

Disappointed!
I read the reviews, in which many complained of sand being mixed in with the teff, but took a chance anyway because of the price. Just cooked up a bowl of teff porridge and had my first bite. I immediately crunched down on a sandy substance. I’ve since finished the bowl and I still have sand between my teeth. I wish I took warning from the other reviews and purchased from another company. I’ve never before experienced sand in my teff. I’ve rated 2 stars because of the unbeatable price and how quickly it arrived.

It taste like sandy and dirt
This was the worst teff I have ever eaten. I typically purchase Bob Mills Teff, but I decided to give this product a try. I made teff porridge. The teff was soft to touch, but when I began eating the teff, it taste like I was eating dirt. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Do Not Buy..
