Bought this as a replacement for the previous generation top-end Philips Steam Generator.You would think the design and function would improve on the original but it does not.Pros:- good, reliable steam function- auto temperature setting makes scorching impossible- smooth glide and easy on fabricsCons:- steam sound is very loud, whistles aggressively, scares / wakes up children- no automatic steam function (old model had)- now iron lies flat on tank, not ergonomic like old model- turning on / off - no audio beep- power buttons hard to see / reach / view. wrong placement- very plasticy feel, especially water tank when compared to previous models- clearly cheaper, lighter grade materials- descaling program is volcanic and hot - please stand back!!Overall, a very good iron but let down by poor design choices and lack of auto-steam feature.
