A great read.
After dumping a "bestseller" and "unputdownable" load of rubbish, I was in need of reading therapy; something witty, polished, moving, uplifting, and most importantly something well written. The Burnout was the perfect choice. It's been a while since i read the Shopaholic series, and I wondered if Kinsella still had it. Oh YES! This is joyful, poignant, hysterical, quirky and emotional. The characters are fabulous - Cassidy is such a wonderful creation, but so are all the people who bring a cery straightforward idea alive. Books don't have to be oh so clever to be deep and The Burnout proves that point in spades. Skilfully plotted and planned, a beautifully judged balance of humour and drama, this was the perfect book to reassure me that reading could be obe if life's great pleasures. Thank you Sophie Kinsella.

Funny, uplifting, cringey enjoyable
I am huge Sophie Kinsella fan and have read all her books, she is one of the few authors I preorder. I absolutely loved this and had many laugh out loud moments. The main characters start off as protagonists with all the usual plot twists. As well so may intertwining small story lines, I real feel good , uplifting joy to read page turner.

It was such a delightful read
This was such an uplifting read, which I so needed! The burnout feelings Sasha experiences are so realistic it brought it all back. I wish I had had the energy to go away by the sea just as Sasha did. The sea just has that effect on your wellbeing, even in winter (or in Welsh weather).Sasha's antics and what she comes out with made me laugh as did Cassidy, Herbert and Nikolai. My heart broke for Terry, the former surf instructor, who "is no longer himself". These quirky and very likeable characters made it such a delightful read.I really enjoyed Sophie Kinsella's writing. She sensitively writes about mental health issues, grief, recovery, breakup, marital problems, illnesses, etc..."You're never failing, you're learning. Learning how to manage the sea and how to manage yourself. Everything you did today, right or wrong, was experience. Experience! Can't beat it. And you'll learn from it, just you wait."

Stunning, isn't it?
I've never surfed before, don't live by the coast. But before I finished this book, I ordered a surfboard online and signed up to classes. If my instructor isn't Terry Connolly, I'm quitting! This book is incredible! If I could give 10 stars on TripAdvisor, I would. All the stars, all the stars! But I'm devastated and mortified that it took me so long to read, it's not the high standard I hold myself to as a reader!Every character in this book was fantastic. Usually side characters don't get such great lines but my God, these characters were the best!Sophie Kinsella does it again. I laughed, I cried, I felt alive!
