High performing scan tool with a very friendly price.
I’m pleased to say I’ve added the Phoenix X-Link to my diagnostic scan tool collection. This tool has alot of great functionality. It performs full system scans very quickly and displays as a topology map. I like that the code scan report function has a QR code for sending and viewing elsewhere. It has alot of special functions and its capable of programming and coding. Topdon pushes software and manufacturer updates very often which is great. The overall layout of the scan tool is highly user-friendly. The only downside is the absence of a wireless VCI. However, I was aware of this when making the purchase. On a positive note, having a wired connection simplifies troubleshooting during those challenging days. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. It closely resembles some of the more expensive tools on the market at an exceptionally reasonable price. I highly recommend this tool to diagnosticians, technicians, mechanics, tool enthusiasts, and DIYers alike.

Topdon Xlink review
I have used several Topdon units and this one is by far the fastest! VIN identification works well, it has a crazy number of services available, comes with all the vehicle specific adapters you could need and all this in a very robust case. Bootup is quick and I found that even when viewing multiple live data streams at the same time, the Xlink is able to keep up with no noticeable performance decline. The seller shipped quickly and was shipped with excellent packing. My only complaint is that it does not have a wireless OBD connection. You must use the cable to connect the scanner directly to the vehicle which makes things a little awkward when doing component actuation tests while under the vehicle and being tethered by a cable to the OBD port. Other than the lack of a wireless connection, this scan tool receives high marks for its power and functionality.

Decent tool.
Pros: it has topology. Works fairly quickly. Has a nice large display. Cons: is not wireless. Overall a good tool.

Great tool, quite powerful!
This tool is awesome! Great layout, solid feel, does lots of things. It has a really great topography screen, and everything is easy to understand. It says it does security functions as well, but I have not yet have the chance to play with that. I do have another tool by the same company that works quite well for security, so I trust that this one will as well. Topdon makes great tools and a fantastic price point. I strongly recommend this one as well as many others they produce.

Great Product - Great Value
The overall build quality is excellent. The unit is very rugged and not easily damaged. The screen is bright and easy to read. The tool is worth the money just for the OBD features. I tested it on my 05 sprinter and all the OBD functions worked great. I also was able to read the SRS. Since the sprinter is so old, it does not have the CAN bus available on the OBD connector so some features will not work on my van. Having the extra features is a bonus and makes this tool an even better value. I love the flashlight feature on the end of the connector. It makes connecting the scan tool much easier. I am very happy with this scan tool. All I need to do is find a case for it!

Very Poor Customer Support
Although the tool is great for a diagnostic tool but for a programming tool it leaves much to be desired when not all FILES are available or PARTIALLY available for some vehicles. Not to mention when it comes to dealing with Amazon Customer Support, that is worse than the tool itself; with the outsourced reps treating members, like myself, who have been loyal for many many years, like less than dirt. I even had a Supervisor tell me that she didn't care about me about a Amazon Customer. Just be very cautious when dealing with Amazon Customer Support.

Excellent scanner that does 95% of what the most expensive do!
I own an automotive business that specializes in diagnostic & programming work. I added the Topdon Phoenix X Link to my arsenal & I can't say enough about its relatively compact size, sturdy construction, & fantastic usability. The special functions, coding, & bi directional testing is as good, or better than any tool I've used over my 25+ years working on vehicles. It will program most keys & immobilizer components, clone ECU's, & code 90% of vehicles. For $1,700, it's a no brainer! The only small gripe I have is the data stream is not as fluid as some more expensive units, but the 2 year free updates makes up for that. Great tool!

Seems fine. Pretty Basic for the Price
Seems to work fine. Nothing special here. Just basic info and "painted" info on buttons and does not seem to be of great quality. Only three functions it changes are battery monitor, tire steering position sensor and oil, which most vehicles can do on their own. Will read and reset codes and you can update online. Limited one year warranty. For the price, expected a little more. You can do pretty much the same thing with one of those basic, no-name readers for $20. Would not buy again.
