Great camera!

It’s easy and simple to use

Let's face it, I didn't expect much out of a sub $200 camcorder. But what I did expect is a camcorder that can keep a subject in focus and can change focus smoothly. And that is not what I got. For context, I am recording kids sporting events with this camcorder. This camcorder constantly "focus checks" throughout the footage. If you are recording anything moving in frame, you will be extremely disappointed!As others have mentioned, the zoom motor is loud. For my use, audio isn't a big concern for me. But if you plan on using any audio from this camcorder, do NOT use the zoom while recording.This camcorder falls way short for my intended use. Therefore, I cannot recommend this camcorder.

ATTENTION MANUFACTURER: if you are reading this, then I would love a firmware update with reduced compression for the audio path! read on:If the audio sounded even acceptable, I would give this thing 10 stars because the picture is simply beautiful. However, audio is **over compressed** and there is a clear hissing from the audio codec being **over compressed** (in the bad "lossy codec" sense, not in the good "studio volume compression" sense).If the audio compression was lossless (ie, FLAC) or higher bandwidth (ie, >= 192kbit audio), then I think this would be an amazing camera.At this point I am not sure if we are going to keep it or return it, so I hope to hear from the manufacturer but so far I do not know how to contact them.
