I have been using a bigger label maker for a while that requires me to type each label one at a time and can’t save any for future use, so I decided to give this Kodak label maker a shot. I was a bit enticed by the brand and the hope it might provide especially good quality.Initially, I had some trouble connecting this device to my phone, and I’m still not sure why. I may have prematurely connected the Bluetooth before doing it through the app, but even when I started from scratch it was initially quirky. Fortunately, I was finally able to convince it to connect and then it worked fine.As I alluded to, an app is necessary to operate this labeler, which is a mixed bag. I don’t like needing to download another app, but I like the versatility and storage the phone provides, and I feel better about the Kodak brand than an obscure off-brand. Once connected the app works well and isn’t too hard to figure out. I like the options to include various images with the text.I didn’t realize these labels would be single size, which is an oversight on my part. Still, I think that is disappointing for a label maker because I often want to keep the text a consistent size while printing a longer label to make it work. That is possible with my more archaic label maker, but I don’t have the option with this one, and I almost consider that a deal-breaker.The actual print quality is good, and the label quality seems fine. The thirteen packs included with my set should last a very long time. I appreciate that the labels are easy to load but do not have the plastic waste for each new set of labels that my old maker has. I am a little disappointed that there isn’t a way to cut off the excess label tape after each print. It isn’t that big a deal since the label itself can be pealed off, but it still means a tail will form before it’s practical to remove the excess.The size of the label maker is an advantage, and it is less than half the size of my old one.Overall, I think this is a good label maker that could be improved. It may be just the right thing for many people, but I probably wouldn’t order it again for my needs.

Such a small device and easy to use! It’s small enough to take anywhere, making it a great choice for portable label printer! And design is great! I like the logo button.

I feel that this more designed for people who need to print a lot of labels all of the time. A very nieche market. The little printer is cool, can be charged via USB for on the go printing. Howeve usage requires it to be paired to a phone and the phone must use an properity app to print to it. I really wish that I could print from my laptop, as I much perfer to design things and print there. Also, I wish the size of the label was customizable. The labels are all one size and you can put a lot of information on a lable, however the font gets smaller and smaller the more information you do. Overall it's OK, but not sure I would order again

The Kodak Label ERA M50 maker is an interesting concept and works with the caveat that the labels are small. I ordered the package that came with 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, and continuous length labels (25.4mm = 1 inch) with all of them being 14mm or 1/2 inch wide.I tested it using the 30mm labels and was able to create two lines with 9 characters each including spaces. It is usable for making price tags, short names, abbreviations, or using more than one label.The technology is fascinating that it pairs with my phone and allows me to type what I wish or insert one of the many emojis that are in its library. The app that operates the label printer is not user friendly and the instructions are pictures only that cover the very basics. I have a S23 Ultra cell phone which has a large screen, but the area to type in the app is very small and difficult to see. I wish it could be resized to take advantage of my larger screen. Once the label is typed I have to move the image around with my finger to get it to print what I want. What you see on the screen is the way it will look on the label, so if the words are not centered well they will be cut off.The app also tells me every time I connect to the label printer that it can’t recognize what size label I am using and wants me to press the on/off button. When I do it prints out one label with the size and one blank label.I think it will be handy for some things but it is very limited with what it is capable of printing. It is a great start for this type of machine and I imagine future versions will be better.
