Very good laptop
Bought on sale during prime day for £299 with this laptop (normally retailing at around £399 at the time of this review), a very good laptop for what I paid for it. The aesthetics of the laptop are nice and comes with plenty of connectivity with two usb A ports, a usb C port, a HDMI output port and lastly a SD Card slot. The screen is very good with good brightness even on 50% brightness and good colours for the display. The specification is very good, with this being my first AMD laptop since 2015, with the AMD Rayzen 5, 4 core processor delivering plenty of power and it provides good graphics. It runs Civilization 6 on the lowest settings and games like Age of Empires and Kerbal Space program on medium settings. The Laptop runs fast, completing many tasks very quickly, so no problems there and when running the laptop is very quiet and the fan isn't noticeble unless you are running intensive tasks. The RAM provided is more than adequate coming in at 8GB (LPDDR5 RAM) and the SSD hard drive memory is excellent. The keyboard is well built and when pressing the keys you get a decent amounty of resistance so it doesn't feel spongy. The trackpad is also good and tracks movement well. The most important part of any laptop is of course the battery life, the laptop spec shows it has a 3-cell, 41 Wh battery. The battery life for this dell laptop is decent for the price I paid at £299. Setting the screen to 50% brightness and switching off bluetooth I can get anywhere between 4-6 hours of battery life depending on what I am doing from full charge of 100% to 0%. Gaming significantly drains the battery with intensive games reducing the battery life to about 2 hours, although older games may not be so demanding. The battery is decent, although those paying more than what I paid may want to look at other Laptops within that price area and compare the specs and battery life. The only negative is that greasy finger marks show up on the black plastic quite easily, aside from that, there is nothing else negative about the laptop.Overall I am pleased with my purchase, a good bargin at the price I paid.

Incredible value for money
I bought this to replace an older laptop which had a broken key. I did a fair bit of looking around before I settled with this spec. Seemed to be great value for money. The casing is plastic and doesn’t look particularly rugged but my laptop will never leave the house so doesn’t need to rugged. The HD display and camera are a huge improvement in what I’m used to. I can now be clearly visible in online meetings and the display is marvellous. The caps lock has a light indicator on it which is something I’ve not had before. I find the 512Gb drive very generous. It stores all my programmes and data including 150Gb of music files. This laptop boots up Windows in 7 seconds and programmes open much faster than my previous laptop. The most astonishing thing of all was the price. This machine normally retails at £399 which I thought was a good price and was about to buy it. However I held off till Black Friday and found it on sale at Amazon for £299. This was an incredible deal and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was definitely the best spec in this price range. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy this again.UPDATE: I have now had this laptop for 8 months, used it extensively at home and it's still working brilliantly. Still boots up very quickly. Highly recommended.

Great starter/ mid tier Laptop
Bought it to replace wife's previous run down HP. She wanted to have same as mine brand this time as have rolled with DELL last decade.Impressed with the feel and finish. Better than my last Gen with I7 and NVIDIA graphic card. Went with AMD5 this time. Frankly would have gone with 3 but got 5 on prime for about the same price so why not!Smooth keys as well as decent processor to do the regular things online .ost people get done. Over twice as good battery than my 5 year old I7 as expected.Gripe: the Microsoft log in! So our kid managed to lock her out of the account for a mo th by trying to log in multiple times. (That's what I've been told). Have asked for a reset of sorts and with missing passwords in the path that will be month break in between. I didn't explore that as her thing to manage. But I did note it had Microsoft log in at the start. (Might be a lawsuits down the road?).Liked it overall and will consider one down the road for the price as daily runner that's a step up from Chrome books with minimum cost.

Very bad. Refused to start up within 3 weeks. Very poor quality.
Broken within 3 weeks. Spent an hour with Dell who were unable to help. Amazon made life as difficult as possible to return. All in all a very bad experience - which i admit is not typical of Amazon. So if you're buying a laptop or similar good to a bricks and mortar store.

This doesn’t have backlit keyboard
Be careful buying this. We received the first one, which was not the backlit keyboard and the replacement did not have it either, although it was what we ordered. Seems Amazon have the same order number for both backlit keyboard and not, so there is no way of knowing what you have without unpacking and checking the F5 key or the bias. Sent both back for a refund
