This worked great for my tiny and thin clock but it's important to follow the enclosed instructions
I had been looking for a timepiece replacement for my clock because the original Takane timepiece stopped working. I assumed this 7/16" threaded shaft for dials up to 1/4" thick with N hands with black second hand was correct. Lucky, I was right. The hands are a tad longer than the ones I had before, but it works as you can see from the photo. The instructions were pretty good but not perfect and is the only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 stars. It is important to read the entire set of instructions before performing the installation because there's a chance of stripping the gears if they are not followed to the letter. There is only a small insert with pictures of how everything gets installed (this was perfect) and then another small insert of a few sentences on how to install (this was not so perfect). It is the combination of both that helped because the "how to" part is not 100% clear. Nevertheless, I was successful and I have never done anything like this before.I have two more clocks that I believe could use the same timepiece. When I am ready to do several more installations, I will probably purchase this set again.UPDATE October 3, 2018 - I purchase another one of these to fix my log cabin wood clock. The only issue I had was that the second hand and minute dial were touching. I had to slightly bend it away and now everything works fine. In addition, I have one more clock to fix so I ordered another one this week. This will be my third (and hopefully last) order for this same item. See pictures of the wooden clock and the instructions (both a diagram and notes) that come with this mechanism. If the pictures are upside down, that is Amazon's software turning them as I submitted them right-side up.UPDATE October 9, 2018 - I finally fixed my third clock. This one gave me a bit of trouble because the second hand would not move right but I seated it a little better. Also, the clock setting knob in the back appeared stiffer on this one. Nevertheless, it is working and keeping time as of the last several hours. The last picture is of this Noah's Ark timepiece.

Excellent replacement battery clock mechanism.
Excellent replacement battery clock mechanism. I really appreciated the warning to NEVER SET/RESET THE TIME BY ROTATING THE HANDS, as this strips the internal gears...!!! I have two wall clocks with open faces (exposed hands), and have always found it easy to just rotate the hands to reset the time... I'm sure this is why they both stopped working! THANK YOU FOR THAT WARNING! New clocks never come with that warning...After a few minutes of confusion between the wording and images on the instruction sheet, and the carefully laid out parts on my table, I saw that it was all very clear and accurate after all. It took my only about 10 minutes to get it all set up. My clock now works beautifully.I have to repair that second clock now as well. That should go much faster!VERY IMPORTANT to take carefull measurements of the shaft length and hands length before ordering...!!!Great replacement product!

Easy to install and very accurate time keeper.
This clock assembly is very easy to set up and install. Be careful not to drop the very small brass nut that holds down the minute hand, which also secures the hour hand that is installed first before installing the minute hand. The second hand is installed after the small brass nut is tightened. The replacement clock hands should be ordered when ordering the clock mechanism as my old clock hands would not have fit on the new clock mechanism. The clock has been very accurate since starting it up with an AA battery.

Replaced My Old Seth Thomas Works
Had an old mantle clock that was my parents. It was near 50 years old and the clockworks was making a loud hum that was becoming annoying. Bought this and exchanged the works. It fit fine and the hands I selected were just right and matched the clock style perfectly. At first the mechanism seemed to gain a little time but then settled down and seems to work just fine. Now the clock is back on the mantle and quietly keeping good time. Glad I was able to save this family memento so easily and inexpensively.

Works Great
I bought this as a clock mechanism to insert into a ready-made clock face I got on sale at a furniture store for $2. The clock face is about 8 inches in diameter. I measured out how long the hour and minute hands should be, and I got this. It keeps accurate time, and it fit the face perfectly. What more do you want? I didn't need to hang the clock, my $2 purchase had it's own stand. This clock mechanism includes a hanger which I just removed with no problem.

Look at all the hand options
At first I didn’t see the small nut for the second hand. Eventually I spied it and assembly was complete. I’ve now had it almost 2 mos and it works great. The trick is to carefully look at all the hand options and find the one scenario that best works for your clock. I think I looked at them all before chooo. Be patient and read the descriptions carefully.

Started perfect but only lasted about 1 year.
Worked well for about a year. Then started to slow and eat batteries. Toward the end, changing batteries every 2 weeks. Price was low but had to account for time to mount it. Will try to not buy this same one again.
