Great braking power.
I bought these in lieu of disk brakes as I had an older bike with a 1000W motor. They worked well and I felt confident going on steep declines within reason. Definitely the best option for V style brakes. Super great price point as well..

Gets the job done
Brakes are fiddly and hard to install, but these I don't think are any more complicated than their competitors. They look nice, they get the job done, and I haven't had any issues with them with over 6,000 miles of riding. One note: if you're swapping out your brakes altogether, if I remember right, you don't need to buy both a front and a rear set of brakes. You can just buy duplicates of whichever is cheaper, they should be functionally identical. (All I know is I bought two copies of the rear brakes--which were $.50 cheaper at the time--and they installed flawlessly.)

Easy to Install. Stop fast
My son got a used bike from a family friend. Its a fairly nice mountain bike, that had terrible brakes. I decided to buy new front and rear brakes that were a nice name brand. These stop MUCH faster and more consistent than the cheap OEM brand. The installation was simple. The instructions are fair. For better instruction, go to youtube and watch a video on mountain bike brake installation, there are tons of them.

A very nice linear brake if you've got suitable wheel rims and brake bosses on your bike.
These V-brakes, while an old school style, really get the job done and stop my husband's hardtail on a dime. On setup they nicely accommodate just about any rim width out there as long as it isn't a pure disk brake type wheel rim (sloping angled sides). Naturally there's some tweaking required, which can be a pain, to get them so they don't rub the actual tire or slip off the rim, but that's part and parcel with linear or V-brakes. Their braking performance is silky smooth in their action, especially when teamed with the current Deore brake levers. My husband is impressed by their performance for the very low price. BTW, for most of his bikes he usually buys SRAM stuff so it's nice to note that Shimano has maintained the quality of the older product lines.

great inexpensive last gen v brake
Got these to replace my first gen xt v brakes with the parallel push mechanism. the deores were only a few dollars more than replacing the old hardened brake pads. so it was a no brainer to get rid of the constant brake pad rattle from the push mechanism and get the same pad carriers that are on the XTs.The lines on these are really good looking and they are noticeably lighter than the 1st gen XT's.They stop like v brakes should.

bought two pairs
This is my second pair for another build of a bike. Love the feeling of them especially when paired with matching Deore levers. This item is listed as a rear, but swapping the pads is enough to make it a front so buy two if you need!

Excellent upgrade for e-bike gravel use
I previously purchased a slightly less expensive V-brake which was OK, but mushy and constantly needed tweaked. These brakes are firm and precise and I now feel in full control on long downhill gravel road descents. These were my last resort before going with a new wheel set for disc brakes. Mission accomplished. Invest in new wheels if not satisfied with these brakes.

Great brakes bad brake pads
The levers are good but the brake pads can not be made level with the tire so I changed to a different pad and the brakes work well now.
