Manhattan SX Freesat HD Box, Black

Great piece of kit, simple to use with very user friendly Home Screen page and remote. The picture quality is very, good as is the sound quality. It also offers a good selection of additional apps and on demand service. A simple cost effective alternative to subscription services.

A good product. Takes up much less room than my old one, easy to set up, does the job just fine.

The media could not be loaded. Just magnificent. Remote is a little cheap, but that’s all. I got this after my human bells and whistles box died. I first purchased the free recordable 4k box and it was terrible, poor picture (pinking on screen) tried different hdmi cabkes and colour adjustment but just awful and way over priced. So after reading reviews on tech sights, gave the little manhattan box (built by the excellent humax company) a go, and am I glad I did. Just excellent for the money. No rewind blah, blah, but with a modern smart tv I no longer need to record and for live tv it just perfect if your sick if going in and out of apps for terrestrial. The guide is excellent and it was easy to set up, really easy. A better quality remote and it would be five star, but that is a minor gripe to be honest. It’s all good and I’m well happy. Don’t hesitate it smashes the cheap Freesat box now not made by humax, Stay Free!

Used abroad, easy to set up, decent range of channels, spot on for the money

Excellent freeview box, very small and compact, connects to internet via wifi for updates but doesn't have access to apps which to be honest didn't really bother me, very easy installation and picked up channels very fast on initial set up, good picture on all as well, for the money you cant go wrong

It is much smaller than the previous one I bought which is in another room. It was very easy to set up and it works well.

My venerable Humax box died after a very respectable 15 years, and a replacement Humax appeared to be very expensive. I was delighted to see that this box looked as though it would be the replacement I needed and at a very reasonable price.It arrived quickly, was surprisingly compact with an excellent intallation manual, all very impressive. Very easy to set up, the on-screen programme a great help, lots of options for planning your viewing.BUT: I could not find any way to access the "on demand" feature that my Humax had provided. No access to "catch up" channels: BBCiPlayer, All Four, My5 or ITVX; nor to any subscription channels (eg NowTV, YouTube, etc). As the catch-up channels, particularly My5 and ITVX, are increasingly broadcasting programmes NOT on their "normal" terrestrial channels, this creates a significant gap in what is available via FreeSat. And a frustrating one. At the very least the product description should have made it clear that his feature is not included. I have contacted the Manhattan help line and await their response, but I suspect the reply will be disappointing.
