It’s PERFECT!
My oldest kitty, Donut, was recently diagnosed with urinary crystals and requires to be on prescription food that other kitty, Mabel, cannot be on. He is also not allowed to eat her food to try and keep everything under control. Feeding them at certain times was difficult to do as Mabel is a big foodie, and if Donut didn’t eat all of his food, she would eat it all. So after much research on the many different covered automatic feeders, I decided on purchasing two of this one. It is a bit expensive but absolutely worth the price, and the kitties took up to it immediately! The setup isn’t too hard as long as you follow along with the booklet they provide, then the PETLIBRO app does the rest. Very simple and easy to set up. What I like about it is that it only opens for the specific cat whose tag you register to it. Mabel did try to bite her way into Donuts bowl, but was unsuccessful thankfully. That proves how durable it is!!! I also like that you can set up meal times to automatically dispense at a certain time at a certain amount. If you free feed, this is still possible to do per pet if you just keep track of how much food has been eaten and just refill when it gets low. You can set dispensing schedules by day and time and if you prefer for the kitties to get fed a certain amount 3 days a week and differently the other 4 days, you can absolutely easily set it up that way. The ability to also put batteries into the feeders to allow it to work in case of a power outage is a lifesaver!! If you have a kitty that is also food crazy, you can adjust the cover closing times and speed to try and help ensure that the other kitty does not steal food. I’ve also placed the feeders in different rooms to avoid this. While there are a lot of pros, there are a few cons but it isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for the overall feeder. If you schedule meal times, if the kitty hasn’t eaten the full amount, it will obviously pile onto the food in the bowl already. If your kitty isn’t much of an eater, the food will pile up and cause the dispenser to get blocked. It’s easy to fix, as I usually just open the cover in the app and use my finger to pull the blocked food down. For my kitty who doesn’t eat a ton, I have turned off scheduled feeding to avoid this from happening and just refill when it gets low. This isn’t a deal breaker whatsoever as he is still getting the food he needs! When setting up, the feeder also does talk, which may be startling for some skittish kitties. Luckily, my kitties were not fazed by it; although, I did completely turn down the voice as soon as I could to avoid them getting scared if it did talk for any reason. Lastly, the last con is the often changing and cost of the desiccant bags; although, there are alternatives that you can find online and use in place of the PETLIBRO branded bags that work just as good. Overall, this is a great product given my situation! It does its job perfectly and helps keep my mind at ease that my kitties are getting the food they need. 100% recommend!

Love it!
Works great! Took a little bit for my cat to start using it. Needed this rfid one cause one of my cats keep bullying the other out of eating her food! Now she doesn’t have to worry about him stealing her food 🙂 Set up was good. Little trouble with the Bluetooth connection but it’s working great now! Good size bowl and feeder. I like that it tells you to add more food and change the food safe package sealer thingys.

Works as intended but I experienced a few issues
The feeder does what it claims to do. It’s extremely easy to set up and put together. My 13 year old cat also adjusted to it pretty easily too as you can adjust how fast or slow it opens. (Recommend slow for unsure animals). The food capacity is good. It holds roughly 1/2 of a 4 pound bag. I do have a few issues with the feeder… - I wish it opened further as it covers about 1/8-1/4 of the dish. This is difficult for a cat especially if they experience whisker fatigue. - I also wish the measurements were easier. I have it set at cups however, it’s in 12s. I had to measure out with a measuring cup exactly how much I needed because the vet has him on a strict calorie intake diet. For reference on how confusing it is 1/4 cup is 3/12s and 1/3 cup is 4/12s. This has made it very difficult to work with his vet to give him the appropriate calorie intake. - I want to caution that this is not a fix all if you have multiple cats. My cats do stand next to and around him. They try to grab food after he leaves before it closes. (They haven’t been successful) In addition, at 13 yrs old he gets tired and likes to nap next to the feeder. This opens the door leaving the food exposed for the others. THIS IS NOT ISSUES WITH THE FEEDER. Just issues I’ve observed with my cats specifically. You may or may not encounter them. Aside from that it is a good feeder and opens every time without fail. It even holds up to the other cats trying to open it which is great because he’s on a prescription diet. A ring is also provided if you want to use a different collar with the RFID tag.

DANGEROUS, BUGGY, DOOR & CLOSING PROBLEMS MAKE THIS COSTLY IN TIME AND MONEY
This is my Amazon review in the third position and marked helpful by 28 people: I curse this company screaming daily... 🤬🤬🤬 DANGEROUS, BUGGY, DOOR CLOSING PROBLEMS!!! I bought 2 of these (and one non-specofic petlibro vacuum sealed feeder for my fat guy to get regular mini portions) and BOTH (all three, actually) are Nightmare of Hazardous, Buggy & MORE time consuming than hand feeding my 4 cats EACH feeding! First, and most dangerous is the ridiculous and thoughtless requirement to have an RFID tag, rather than reading the tags already embedded in almost every single cat. Because of this I had to put this dumb dangerous non-breakaway collar (it is supposed to be breakaway) on my cat, to then find my cat gagging and stuck with its mouth open it's and 's. Bottom teeth caught in the Petlibro collar that wasnt breaking off. Thank F*** I was home when it happened or else who knows what would have happened to my poor cat who now is missing a tooth because of this and had to fight an infection after i took my cat to the emergency room because she was having problems with her mouth and jaw and tongue and bleeding.... 🤬🤬🤬 If this wasn't bad enough, after switching the device to my other cat, and leaving my old microchip feeder for her, the device won't shut DAILY. The sliding door constantly stays open now because it cannot stay closed. This does NOT happen with the other, but that one has other constant issues like rotor stuck for no reason. Lastly, the company took so long to upgrade the firmware to allow feeders to close faster, my fat cat has already figured out that if he gets in there fast enough, then the feeder won't close all the way and he can get as mich as he wants. THIS is thr ONLY cat I buy all my feeders for because hees the one that i meed to limit, otherwise all would free feed. ALSO, guess what? Have a cat that will dig at a feeder? The doors on these come RIGHT out and off if they catch their claw on the rubber hinged lid area. THEN FREE FEEDING ALL DAY ON OTHER CATS FOOD UNTIL YOU COME HOME. NOT EVEN AN ERROR LOGGED!?!? NO WAY TO LOCK IN THE DOORS!? NONE of these RIDICULOUS frustrating, time consuming, dangerous and costly FAILURE POINTS NEVER OCCURED with the other branded microchip feeder (with no food hopper) ive used for years. The problem is it didn't do anything but open so it isnt useful for more than one days feeding before needing refilled. I bought two of these and another petlibro feeder to build a comprehensive feeding system to save me time and frustration, but all it has fone is cost me hundreds of dollars of waste, wasted money on food my cat still overeats, a hurt car with vet bill and a cat with a missing tooth, and minimally functioning and terribly designed and implemented hardware and software. As a Data Scientist and AI engineer, this company could have done things 100x better than the competition, filling a gap and even adding AI capabilities that are fairly cheap and effective, but they clearly dont know what they are doing, dont have cats that have a freding problem, and obviously dont losten to feedback as I was worried at purchasing time of all the errors and issues Ive read about. Do NOT BUY THIS unless you want a lot of pain, causing pain to your kitties, having a collar and giant tag around their neck that has been PROVEN to be dangerous, and a nightmare of mechanical, technical, setup nightmares, bad UI, no AI, all features that are useful are behind a SUBSCRIPTION paywall (!?!?!) and all you will have to show for it is pending more time and money on food, vey bills, and time fixing/figuring out the broken devices and resetting, and THEN you can finally feed your cats every day. Wasnt this device supposed to fix ALL of that?!?!?!? Sadly im only describing the most annoying issues I've had, not even the smaller ones with programming, wifi connectivity, and more. I'd never spend MORE money on for tracking and stats ability that should be included FREE for the cost, and ill never buy a PetLibro device ever again after buying 3 and having problems with ALL of them unless they were able to fix all these problems and get me 3 working devices that take LESS time than manually feeding, not MORE time and money!!!

Works Well for My Slow Eater
Used it for a week and it has been working well for my girl. My roommate recently fostered 2 male cats from the local rescue and those boys have been stealing and even scrambling for food from the old feeders I had. My girl lost 1 lb in a week no matter how many meals I added in addition to their scheduled meal plan. It quickly became unaffordable for me to feed 4 cats in the household on my own. This is the first microchip feeder I tried and I like it so far. It is easy to assemble and you are allowed to record your own meal call if you want. It took a whole day for my girl to figure out how this thing worked. It is quiet but kind of slow. I set the lid closing time to 1 sec but it was still a good opening for other cats to steal food if they are dedicated enough. Luckily, it did prevent other cats from getting into her food, and now she can return to her normal eating pattern. It came with one RFID collar, and you can change the collar if you don’t like the original one. The one thing I don’t like about the collar is the connecting ring. It might become loose and the chip could come off and nowhere to be found. The product does not have any camera or recording function if I am not mistaken but it does record when my girl comes and nibbles on her kibbles. And more than one collar/microchip can be added to one feeder, but it has to be from their brand. To be honest, it is expensive just like other microchip feeders. In general, I do like it and recommend it in a multi-cats/pets household setting where either a special diet is needed or one cat is particularly eating less than others due to their inaccessibility to the food. If there is only one cat in the house, this product is just a bit overpriced for you. I am still giving it 5/5 just because it solved my problem and definitely cheaper than a vet visit once my baby girl became way too underconditioned.

Good idea with some middling flaws
Overall, I’m somewhat reluctantly satisfied with this device. We bought it because we have two older cats that are on special diets and a kitten and they kept stealing her food if we didn’t pay close attention. Setup was fairly straightforward and it usually reacts quite promptly to her approach, and closes quickly when she leaves, so the basic function is fulfilled. A couple of design choices or flaws drop this to at least a four star, and a persistent issue with button functionality drops it to a three. The food bowl itself is not shaped well to ensure the food ends up all the way in the front where the cat sits, and the lid doesn’t retract far enough for the cat to get at the food in the back and corners. Correcting these would seem to be fairly straightforward and improve the product a fair bit, in my opinion. As a result of the shape/inclination of the bowl, food can quite easily back up into the chute. As a result of the combination of attributes, I cannot establish a good feeding schedule without running the risk of it backing up and preventing the lid from opening and closing properly. This gives me quite a pause when it comes to being able to travel and leave the kitten alone with confidence. Another thing that bothers me is that you cannot pair multiple collars with one device. This makes no sense to me at all aside from the obvious profit motive of forcing you to buy one for every cat. In my case, I simply want a backup available in case the kitten loses hers (again). If I’m not around to pair the new one, even having someone coming by the house to check on the cats periodically wouldn’t help, which leads me to the last, very annoying issue: The buttons on the front of the device just don’t work half of the time. Sometimes the unlock button doesn’t work, which by default means none of the other buttons will, but sometimes even after unlocking it the dispense food or open lid buttons won’t work, either. I can find no rhyme or reason to this. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t, and the only recourse is to go get my phone and do whatever it is through the app. Overall, given the somewhat poor bowl/dispensing design and frustratingly intermittent button functions, I’m quite concerned about leaving for even a short vacation and trusting this device to be able to keep the kitten fed, even if someone can come by and check on her. I’d have been better off overall buying a cheaper, simpler one that was just a bowl with a cover triggered by the tag and foregone the significant additional cost of the programming features. A good idea, executed only fairly.

You get what they market but I wish they had additional features
The only problem I have with this feeder is that you can't connect to multiple cats and have multiple feeding times for those cats like you can with some of the other ones. The other ones don't dispense meals, however, and instead give the cat a time frame to eat. I'm not sure how they could incorporate multiple pets into one feeder but that would be so much better than having 3 separate feeders for my cats. It would also be nice for them to have a free feed mode that would automatically fill the bowl when it was getting low, but still keep the lid down when not in use by the cat so that the other cats can't get into the food. It is a little pricier than some of the other feeders I have used, but I think it is worth it. If they fixed the two above problems that would be great. I am still leaving 5/5 stars because I knew what the specifications were when I bought it, I would like them to make a feeder like I described. The noise isn't too bad when it is dropping food and doesn't wake me up but I am a heavy sleeper. The opening and closing of the door is silent, and it doesn't have a problem closing when the other cats are trying to steal the food. I am not using the desiccant bags because I can't afford to keep buying them so I am not sure how much those help. I haven't had to clean it yet but the bowl is easy to remove. The speed of the door opening and closing is a little slow, but now for the most part my cats have learned which feeder is theirs and don't try and steal the other cats food so it isn't as much of an issue. When the cats try to break into them they are sturdy and they haven't been able to get them open. Overall a good product that is marketed appropriately just wishing there were additional features

Extremely upset--Feeders started struggling MONTHS ago, 8 months later, no longer functioning.
Ive had two PetLibro feeders since about March this year, and I will say that the performance has been subpar. I bought them so my cats with different dietary needs could eat without having their food be stolen, especially while I was away on a weekend trip, but almost immediately after I left I was given the error stating the rotor was stuck. I kept getting my roommate to check and see if there were any issues, but nothing seemed off. When I returned, I found that food wouldnt always go fully down the chute, and you needed to gently wobble the feeder to get food to fully dispense. Eventually, this turned into tapping the top with more force, but now, nothing aside from digging your hand in the outlet works. My cats have figured this hack out as well, which makes me worry about potential trapped paws. And on internet connection, I have moved across locations many times, and these feeders have consistently had issues with connecting to internet, but the absolute worst when I was on college campus (which is understandable, given firewalls preventing direct connection. I utilized a burner phone with a firewall, but it still struggled). Without direct and consistent internet connection, the feeders failed to dispense food at their appropriate times, and dispensing was done randomly, even if they were connected to internet. Just now, one of my cats feeders dispensed at 1:21am, while the other dispensed at 1:54am, prompting me to write this review that ive been avoiding, just hoping it would get better. The time they are both supposed to dispense is 8:30pm and 8:30am. The amount they are fed is also incorrect. Sometimes, Salem (other cat) will get MOUNDS of food, whereas Calypso would get mere pebbles. There are times throughout the day where im worried if my cats have been fed because their bowls are empty, and I end up filling the bowls out of fear of a scheduling or portioning malfunction. My cat Calypso's feeder has given me the most issue. The feeder doesnt have enough of an incline to motivate food to go down the chute properly, so its constantly getting clogged or stuck in the entry port. His lid also struggled both opening and closing, to the point that he had come to me for help (or chew up cardboard to show me he was hungry). As of a few months ago, his collar tag stopped working to open the lid. I tried resetting, reconnecting, removing the tag and moving it closer, and nothing worked. I had to leave the feeder open so that he could eat his food, but I didn't realize there was an issue for a while. As of a few weeks ago, neither lids work to open or close, so ive had to prop it open so my cats could eat. On the buttons: when you press the buttons, they are based on pressure, not on a physical click, so even a brief graze would trigger the "buttons locked" voice to speak. Fairly quickly (within 3 months), the voice also started to stutter, fade, and cut out. Even now, you can barely tell if something is open or unlocked, because all you hear are tiny clicks instead of a voice. And on the sensitivity, it doesnt matter what button you press, it never registers. Ive accidentally rebooted the feeder several times because of a brief brush, but it takes multiple tries to press the feed button or get it to register me pressing the "open lid" button. At times, when nobody is near the feeders, you can also hear a "buttons locked" for no reason. Without internet, this feeder is barely functional, but even with it, it is subpar. I was looking for a feeder that could automatically feed my cats while im away while also keeping their meals separate so they don't steal each other's (one is prescription, the other is based on their age). Initially, it seemed like a dream come true and very convenient, but the pressing issues have become too much for me to have any positive feelings about these feeders. For spending nearly $250 on the two of them, I would have hoped for a much more stable and reliable pair of feeders.
