JP Korsteel Stainless Steel Copper Mouth Oval Link Loose Ring Snaffle Bit, 5.5"

I’ve been using this bit for many years, needed a bigger size for my large mustang. Every horse I use it on accepts it readily, and is happy to accept contact. The copper is especially nice for young horses learning to work with a bit in their mouth as they seem to appreciate the sweet copper taste. Note: if you have a stronger horse, this bit might be a little too "comfy" and the stronger horse may want to lean on this type of bit. But for a lighter more sensitive horse, especially a green horse, this bit is perfect.

I measured this bit to be 6 inches with size stated 5.5. My gelding liked it and it is fit to his mouth so I am not returning. Good bit, curved gently, very smooth.

I have a Paint horse that I just bought that is a nightmare to get a bit into his mouth. It's doable for me, but I have some young riders who also ride him in lessons. He's great in every other way, but putting a bit in his mouth was a nightmare. We showed him a week after purchasing him and it wasn't a fun ordeal as we were at a one day show and didn't have a stall to give a little leeway in this process. After the show, I tried another bit with dog bone and that worked better but he would still give trouble with getting the bridle on and no focus on anything but the bit under saddle. I found this one and it has made a world of difference. He has relaxed and instead of fighting the bit he relaxing and gets on the bit and is much more pleasant to ride. I was concerned it was a problem with his teeth or in his mouth. Glad I hung in there and found this. I also think that the copper made a huge difference as he is salivating much more.

My horse accepted this bit right away. He’s very soft and reactive to harsh bits, and he rides off my seat and legs, so he really enjoyed contacting with my hands with this bit in his dressage bridle. I just ordered another one for his jumping bridle because he loves it so much!

Our rescued mare LOVES this bit! We tried several other metals, shapes, types, and sizes. All were met with struggles, excessive gnawing at the bit, or even rearing upThis one was accepted and after two tongue flicks under it, it nestled immediately into place and she relaxes. 1-2 wrinkles each side, no struggles, and takes cues very easily from the reins.We will definitely be keeping one spare at all times and as soon as her filly is ready to break, this will be on the top of the list to fit for!! Very gentle touch, and very much liked by both us and the horse!!!

This bit is working out very well for my mare.. she doesn’t chomp on it and is very responsive to it.. it is a little on the thick side but my horse doesn’t seem to mind it at all.. I love the fact that it is kind to her mouth and will help keep her soft..I would definitely buy another if needed... great quality and a great price

Fits well, horse soft and light in this bit and she goes very well on the flat and it is still strong enough for her over fences. She has a sensitive mouth and needed a soft bit Highly recommend. Excellent quality bit at an affordable price. I have may different kinds of the Jp Korsteel brand of bits and this is a must have for your tack box
