Excellent
A really nice hammer at a bargain price. Feels good in the hand and has a quality feel.

Not bad
Okay but head was loose when delivered. A useful addition to the toolbox but not for heavy use.

Delivered with a wobbly head… rather a rubbish hammer
Well, the fit is poor, as the head wobbles. The finish of the head itself is also shoddy, and the handle too is nothing to look at, covered as it is with 3 pointless stickers. Overall, a very disappointing Japanese tool. I will not be buying anything else from this Dogyu brand, as they seem overpriced, and poor quality, based on this tool. The size and weight would have been ideal for adjusting the various Japanese planes I use all day long in my luthiery workshop. Shame the tool itself is so poor as supplied.I will be returning it for a refund. There is no way a professional tool retailer ought to be selling this garbage because they have a reputation to protect… so I suspect this manufacturer shifts all their sub-par stock via Amazon. Lesson learned.

An excellent weight enables good balance
I purchased this hammer to make adjustments to my Japanese plane I purchased. It is excellent with a long handle to enable the weight of the Hammer to be used fully and obtain good leverage

Meh. Unimpressed
It’s true to say we are all falling for the wonders promoted of Japanese joinery. Whilst this is true, most of what’s sold here is cheap tat imitating Japanese quality. This is just a lump of steel on a stick. Made all basic and wonky so it looks authentic

Not up to usual Japanese tool standards
I'm a big fan of Japanese tools and I had hoped to like this hammer too unfortunately there were two defects on mine when I received it the wedge was not pu in correctly and the rounded edge of the hammer had what seemed to be a spot of weld anyway it would destroy a nice piece of wood if used on it one star taken away for each defect other than that it has a nice weight
