Smart Outdoor String Lights 2, 144ft RGBIC Patio Lights with 45 Bulbs

I purchased these Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights for my backyard, and they have completely transformed the atmosphere of the space. The lighting quality is excellent, and the RGBIC effects make the colors look vibrant, smooth, and much more customizable compared to standard outdoor string lights. One of my favorite features is the ability to control everything directly through the Govee app, which makes changing colors, brightness, scenes, and schedules extremely convenient. The app setup process was straightforward, and the lights connected quickly without any frustrating setup issues. I also really appreciate the wide variety of scene modes because it allows me to switch between relaxing warm lighting, colorful holiday themes, or more energetic effects depending on the occasion. The brightness level is impressive as well, providing plenty of illumination for patios, outdoor gatherings, or evening relaxation without being too harsh. The build quality feels durable and weather-resistant, and the lights have held up very well through rain, humidity, and changing outdoor conditions. Another feature I enjoy is the compatibility with Alexa and smart home controls, which makes it easy to adjust the lighting using voice commands when entertaining guests or relaxing outside. The bulbs themselves look modern and attractive, and the overall setup gives the backyard a very clean and upscale appearance at night. Overall, these are some of the best outdoor string lights I’ve owned, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to add customizable smart lighting and a more enjoyable atmosphere to their outdoor space.

Second edit: Customer service in the app is amazing!!! Don't worry about getting an extended warranty ETA: They broke after 4 months outside... I can't get them to connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth so I'm going to have to take them down since I can't figure out how to replace just the connection piece.... Very sad. Not worth the money... Original review: I love love love LOVE these!!! They app is easy and simple to use, so at first I was overwhelmed with how much could be done with them but the scenes they have set are amazing and it easily saves my custom colors. Neighbors have commented on how lovely they are, saying they make us look like the fun house of the street! :)

I have bought a number of Govee products for our home, but I am extremely disappointed with the durability of these outdoor string lights. Govee advertises these lights with an expected lifespan of up to 25,000 hours. At only 6 hours of use per night, that would equate to more than 11 years. Mine developed a failed light after roughly 1 to 2 years of normal outdoor use. I understand that an advertised lifespan is not the same as a warranty, but there is a huge difference between 25,000 hours and a product failing after such a small fraction of that time. This is also not my first premature failure with Govee outdoor lighting. The bigger issue for me is that these lights were professionally installed, so replacing them is not simply a matter of buying another box. I contacted Govee, completed their troubleshooting steps, and asked for a replacement. They refused because the lights were outside their 12 month warranty and instead offered me 30% off another Govee product. That response does not give me confidence in the durability of the product or in continuing to invest in the brand. Outdoor LED lights marketed for long term use should last considerably longer than this. I would not buy these again unless Govee improves the durability or stands behind premature failures beyond the minimum warranty period.

I recently installed these Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights on my back patio using a separate string light hanging kit I also purchased. Once the hanging kit's support wire was in place, the Govee lights were a breeze to attach with zip ties, utilizing the handy loops built into the light string. This setup ensures no sagging, which looks great. The brightness of the warm white LEDs is just right, and the color-changing capability is fantastic, responding perfectly to both the Govee app (for initial setup) and Alexa voice commands. The dimming function works well, allowing for a nice ambiance when relaxing in the hot tub at night. While the lights offer 47 scene modes, I haven't explored those yet, as controlling the color and brightness via Alexa voice commands is simple and meets my needs. I haven't had any connectivity or reliability issues. Although the lights are somewhat protected under my eaves, they've been exposed to plenty of dew with no problems at all, indicating good weather resistance. The 144ft length was actually more than I needed; it comes in three sections, and I only used two. I wish Govee sold the controller separately so I could utilize the third unused section elsewhere. I purchased these during a holiday sale in 2024, and at that price, they felt like a great value. However, their regular price seems quite high. Compared to my previous basic Costco white string lights (which only had on/off functionality), these Govee lights are a significant upgrade with color changing, dimming, and voice control. The voice control is particularly convenient when I have my portable Alexa speaker outside by the hot tub. Overall, I'm happy with the lights, especially at the sale price – I'd recommend waiting for a discount to get the best value.

Really like these lights and have them installed on the screen enclosure of our pool! The app is great and love the AI feature. I had them up for nearly a year when only the first few bulbs would light up and the rest were not illuminating. I used the “contact us” feature of the app to let Govee know of my issue. I received a reply in less than an hour asking for my Amazon order number. Within 4 business day I received replacement lights. Customer service was amazing.

Really cool product. We did a major backyard reno project, and these new smart lights are the biggest "hit" of the whole thing, for only <$150. They're about twice the price of standard white LED string lights for the same length, but IMO certainly worth the extra. In addition to white, these can also do any color - You can pick any spot on a color wheel on the app to set all lights to that color. Every light is also individually customizable. It comes with ~50 preset themes, many of which have some degree of motion (some too much!), and you can program customized themes as well, such as red/white/blue or purple/orange for certain holidays, etc. In addition to providing ambience, these lights provide some fun entertainment themselves, as I'll find myself just sitting out back and playing with the app for kicks. Brightness is adjustable too, and they're bright enough that we have to dumb it down below 100% for most color themes. One thing to note: You can't just string together as many of these as you want like typical light strands that only have a power requirement, because smart lights also have a controller requirement that talks to each light. This set can do 1, 2, or 3 strands of 50 ft for up to 150 ft. I did have the same problem one other reviewer mentioned, where after a week they started randomly flashing real bad. Thought it was buggy and was about to return. But I noticed that the first strand was fine, the flashies were occurring every bulb after the first-to-second strand connection, and it had also rained recently. So I thought maybe moisture got in that connection. Unconnected, let it dry for a couple days, reconnected, ensured it was super tight, and sealed the connection with electrical tape to prevent moisture from getting in. Fixed it and have been running fine for 2 weeks since. Now all my connections have the same treatment. Hopefully that keeps the issue away, as it really is a neat product.

These have been through a year of storms, a few tornadoes and winter and have gave no problems. Easy to use from the app. Definitely worth it for outside (or inside) lighting

If you want quality, then you'll have to pay for quality. These Govee lights are truly everything. I love all the color options you can choose from and the app makes everything run smoothly from your phone. I’ll definitely be purchasing more in the near future.

I set these up on my gazebo. I enjoy the "scenes". You can choose any color or group of colors, and you can change how fast they flicker. I like the app, I find it works well. It does keep saying its disconnected from the lights, but then I click reconnect and it does so instantly, so it's not an issue. I'm happy I got these lights. They really enhance the ambience of my backyard! They have survived the first rains, so they seem durable.

Love everything about these lights. Customizable for every season in our yard. I mostly bought them so I could have lights on for my dogs when they go out at night but I also like them for myself. I like picking the fun preset colors and choosing my own patterns. You can adjust the brightness and timing. They were so easy to set up. Highly recommend!

Water got into one of the bulbs and now the whole string doesn’t work. Edit: I emailed Govee Support and they had a replacement on my doorstep in two days. I was really impressed.

Very disappointed with these after all the issues recently with the spot lights.. now these are filling with water. 50% lights dont work in less than 1yr outdoor usage. Algae even growing in a few :(

I haven’t used these lights yet, my friends have the same ones and aren’t having any problems once they’re installed.
