My personal opinion and usage:I use a Hasegawa TT-1 scriber (conical tip) to gently lay in the path, or the back of a slightly used Xacto blade (i.e. tip snapped off to give a chisel edge). Going from almost no pressure to slight pressure to get a groove that the chisels reviewed here can catch in.I found laying in the initial scribing path with these chisels a bit more of a wobbly experience. Your experience may differ.Once the path is laid in tho, these chisels excell!Angling the tip nearly vertical, the scribe is clean and sharp. The draw is smooth, unlike other rough cheapo chisels (and I don’t want to spend more time stoning and case hardening the cruddy things). The end result needs little further processing, just a 1500 grit sand and Tamiya extra thin glue to smooth out the trench. These things are quality and I recommend them.Hacky tip: Shaft won’t quite fit in an Xacto like handle, so I drilled out the center hole a bit more in the brass chuck to get the working edge closer to my hand for a lot more control.

Fits most other scribes.
Replacing a broken tip I had for my scribe works great.

Works great but brittle
I have used this for a great many things when it comes to miniatures. It is the tool that I didn't know I needed until I got it. I find myself using it all the time for paint mistakes and detailing work. I was surprised though at how brittle the blade is. I was using the flat side to pry up a little piece on one of my miniatures and it snapped in half almost instantly! I get that it is thin but I didn't apply a lot of force and thought it should not have broken so easily.

Handle purchased separately.
Yeah, it showed up. But from the picture that is in the advertisement I expected a handle, seems I should have read the fine print.

Works for what I need.
The quality is great. Pretty sharp, I would use scribing tape if you are a novice.
