As subtle as a 3 ring circus
I missed this when it came out and it's taken me 25 years to catch up. Very funny, broad humour, it had me laughing from when the opening titles rolled. Lovely performances all round although the breadth of the humour doesn't leave any room for subtlety. Good fun spotting all the sci-fi satire/lampoons/homages and good that it only took Mel one film to tell the story when at the time it had taken George Lucas three..The extras are okay and it does have subtitles. I'd have liked a blooper reel rather than 6 mistakes being pointed out in separate mini scenes. Mel Brooks commentary struck me as rather sad as he used quite a lot of it to beg Gene Wilder to come back to him. He only really perks up when he himself is on screen. Its an interesting insight into the mind of Mel Brooks - a genius in many ways.Definitely worth one watch and if you fall for it's charm then one for the "Mr Video" collection.

A classic Mel Brooks film.
"May the FARCE be with you" Mel Brooks on superb form, sends up many iconic sci-fi shows with this gem.The inhabitants of Planet Spaceball, hatch a devious plan to steal the air from Planet Druidia, by kidnapping the princess after her wedding and holding her for ransom. The ship sent to kidnap her is commanded by the evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). After the princess (Daphne Zuniga) runs out on her wedding she is confronted by the spaceballs and is saved by Captain Lone-Star (Bill Pullman) and his half-man, half-dog sidekick Barf. and what follows is a fantastic slapstick gag a minute story.Brilliant cameos especially from John Hurt. Also fantastic gags.

Space Balls a great comedic spoof
The spoof film is hilarious. The characters are so well chosen, they all work together we'll to add to the humour. The extras are good no bloopers but you can't have everything. Will watch again.

Watch it for the Heston ending
I first saw this on VHS back in the late 1980s. It was one of those films we all talked about having seen but probably none of us understood what some of the humour was about. It's pretty much a spoof of the Star Wars movies and has some great sight gags, self referential fourth wall breaking and pretty good performances throughout. I'd recommend it to anyone who thinks Star Wars has gone a bit too far and too serious and just needs a good laugh. It's a good use of a couple of hours of your life and much better in a new digitalised format.

Another family favourite.
We all loved this movie and found it hilarious. However we only had it on VHS and the player has finally died. A GVG replacement had to be found and when I saw how cheap a Blu-Ray copy was, it was a no brainer.

I loved this move from the first time I watched it. The package arrived quickly and with no damage. No issues with the disc.

Brilliant spoof!
I've seen this film in the early 90s, shortly after the original Star Wars Trilogy and it was blowed my mind!A masterful mocking of the sci-fi genre, all Star Wars and Star Trek sci-fi fans must own it.This blu-ray release comes with brilliant picture&sound (also includes my native language (hungarian), and humorous and interesting extras about making the movie.
