Great product
After reading several of the reviews that mentioned difficulty with this product, I almost passed. But am glad I didn't. If you take your time, and follow the directions, it's really not that hard. I could do 4 panels' stickers in just under 5 minutes. Then you wash the walls, and you stick them up.Do they smell? They smell like compressed foam rubber that's just been released after God knows how long, so yeah, initially they have a slight, odor, but it dissipated in a few days, and I have zero ventilation in my studio. Not an issue whatsoever, for me.As for the vacuum packaging and all the difficulties I read about the panels not popping out fully formed? If that's what you expect, don't buy this. If you are an impatient person who likes to roughly tear instead of gently open, do not buy this.Take your time. Follow the directions. Read the comments. Don't hurry. If you hurry, you will tear the product. So don't hurry. Soak them. Dry them. Be gentle with them. I bought, I think it was the 36 pack, and all but 3 panels are perfect. The three that aren't perfect, are so slightly pinched on a small part of one end, you can't really tell. I stuck them on the ceiling. They look like the others, but more importantly they do a great job sonicly. These panels work well, they absorb sound well, definitely won't break the bank, and look pretty sharp to boot.

These are great, with one exception
First thing's first, I really like these sound dampening panels. They cancel out a lot of echo and deaden the room really well. I also appreciate that unlike egg crate or other repeated pattern, this are a nice differing pattern when mounted 90 degrees from one another each other panel. The two rooms I've installed these have a much better sound, without any echo or noticeable sound waves bouncing off the walls, even in a really clean recording.I have purchased many batches of these over the past month. They are terrific. I found them easy to mount with the supplied stickers. I was doing it wrong for the first 5 or so, trying to pull the backer off of the dot "free hand", before I stuck one to the foam. Terrible idea. If you peel & stick in place, push pretty hard, the adhesive won't let the dots separate from the foam. Then it is a lot easier to bend the foam (and sticker on it), remove the cover and go.The only problem is that some batches come where they won't separate themselves from the adhesive that keeps them compressed. Another user posted a video having the same problem. I put pictures here to show you, when it happens, it is always on one side as they try to expand. They won't get unstuck no matter how long you wait. The first time I saw this, I meticulously went piece by piece trying to separate the adhesive, which then disappears, trying not to tear the foam. It never made them look as good as the batches I got w/o the stuck ones. MOST that I bought, including entire packages worth, were perfect and after very little time unwrap, were in usable shape. In the latest batch, there were a couple bunches with the adhesion again. I thought I'd try my heat gun. I noticed that the foam itself expands even further, like leaving them unwrapped longer would do. The heat gun didn't do much for the adhesive, though. I had read another user mention a steamer (thanks whomever you are), and I have one so I tried it. It was WAY more productive that pulling them apart by hand, which never looked like the other good ones. The steamer made many of them exactly the same size & look as the "normal" pnes. On some difficult edges, it didn't make them perfect, but significantly better.Without this final occasional step, I'd give five stars. If you get this problem, try steam or maybe even a very hot bath/soak as the maker suggests. I just didn't want to wait another day or so for them to dry. I'm always impatient on projects like these.Best of luck to you. These things are great!

Would definitely buy again. Money Well Spent...
Would definitely buy again. Most opened up to full size within a couple of minutes. I sprinkled a small amount of water on the ones where the adhesive was still keeping it stuck together & threw them in the dryer as other reviews had mentioned & that worked perfectly (I kept checking every few minutes or so to make sure they were ok. These made a huge difference by putting them mostly in the corners for bass traps & some around the room as well. Cut the echo down significantly. Money well spent. Good luck & God bless.

Not think foam as advertised
This panel was recommended for the ceiling. Perhaps that application may work, but for me this foam was so paper thin. They look thick as Goodyear tires do in the photos, but in reality they are half an inch thick. The foam has ridges that make it look much thicker but that's an illusion. The foam is nice in appearance, but that's about it. It seemed futile to try to use this foam in a bare room with no acoustic treatment. If your room needs a little touch up here and there then perhaps these may work. Otherwise, go for something else as you will be disappointed.

Great Deal Great Product Great
This foam is very dense and does provide the curved effect. Shipping was fast, the product came tightly compacted in a smaller box than I anticipated. All vacuum wrapped in plastic. This did not make foam recovery a problem at all. Once I removed the outer plastic all panels recover quickly and to their full potential. A few were smashes on the edges, but I was able to eventually fix it. No Smell either. Not soundproof but the high-density high rigidity creates a nice acoustic sound dampening I needed for my podcast.

Give them time to reshape
The noise reduction is about 70%. I used them on the ceiling to reduce upstairs foot noise. I can still hear squeaky boards and footsteps. Conversations are muted, but still audible. The sticky dots are worthless. They are difficult to get the paper off and then don’t stick to the wall. Buy something else that will work. I used gorilla spray adhesive.I opened the packages and allowed 3 days for them to expand and several still never expanded on the edges. If you tug gently, some will expand, others will tear. So be careful. Easy to cut to shape around corners or airvents.
