Best value dashcam
Bought this dash cam as it is significantly cheaper than the market leader. The build quality is good for the price. It is fairly easy to install on the window with the adhesive sticker, I've had it about 9 months and it is still holding strong. The WiFi connection works well but I can't get it to work on Bluetooth but because the WiFi works it doesn't bother me. The picture quality is good but I recommend the polarising lens because of reflections of the windscreen and bonnet.

Great little budget 4K dash cam
Setting up the Miofive S1 was straightforward. The package includes everything you need: the cam, a windscreen mount, USB cables, and a pry tool for tucking the cable neatly. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in about 15 minutes. The dash cam has a compact design that doesn’t obstruct the view especially because i mounted behind my rear view mirror. The 3-inch display is bright and clear, making it easy to navigate the settings and review footage. The build quality feels surprisingly good, and the device doesn't feel like it's on the budget end.The 4K video quality is great. Daytime footage is sharp but on the default exposure setting, was a touch on the dark side, but u can manually override it and i set it to +1 and then it was perfect. Nighttime recording is equally good, with minimal noise and clear details and reading plates was easy most of the time. The wide 140-degree field of view ensures that everything happening around the car is captured. It has 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so getting footage to my phone is fast. The app is pretty good too, allowing for easy video downloads and settings adjustments. It has GPS which adds speed and location data to the recordings, which is essential for evidence. It also has a G-Sensor and Parking Monitor so the cam automatically starts recording if it detects a collision, even when the car is parked. The only minor downside is that the frame rate is limited to 30 fps. But for the price I think i don't think i could expect much more.NB u do need to buy a suitable microSD card, I got a 128GB card specifically for dash cam use for £17.50

Good value.
I am a new driver (18) and I’ve been looking for ages for a decent quality dash cam. If you look through Amazon, there are many that all seem to be quite similar. I then went looking through some reviews and guides and this one kept popping up.Price wise it’s relatively inexpensive compared to some of the top end systems which is great for someone like me working off a smaller budget.Getting it out of the box, there are many useful accessories that come with it (picture above). There is a panel “crow bar” that came in use as I didn’t want to have exposed wires everywhere. Also included is a replacement 3m double sided tape-foam thing that is good if you need to transfer it to another car.I found these were nice as most other companies would expect you to pay extra for something like that cough cough, Apple chargers.Installation was easy once I decided where I was going to put the camera. I have a Citroen c3 which has a large front windscreen which goes back quite far so I didn’t want to route the wires that way.I ended up pushing the wires into the trim from the back of the windscreen round the dash and then under the centre console where I plugged it into a spare usb port. The crowbar works well but I thought I might snap some of the plastic panels at times however no damage was done. Don’t be afraid to put pressure on the panels and lift them up a bit to allow the cable to get under.Once installed I turned on my car and it started first try then prompting me to insert a SIM card so I used one I had to hand - just a sandisk. On the description they said to use theirs but it makes no difference whatsoever, most SIM cards come out the same factory anyway. There are settings on the camera where you can adjust anything you need - you don’t need to use the app as some other people were saying. You can even turn off the voice if you want but I kept it on low volume. The app also works fine, just connect to the Bluetooth and WiFi and you can watch live - don’t know why they added that. Or you can view all the captures it made. You don’t need a phone to use this product, you can use a laptop to access videos by taking the flash drive out.As capturing goes, it’s very sensitive. I live down a private road that has more potholes than the m25 so it tends to go off quite a lot when I tested it. The dashcam records a minute before the sensors detect something which is standard. In terms of video clarity and quality, the camera is good I can make out number plates from about 60m away from me in the day and about 30m at night which is fine, if you do get into an accident then you will always share info and take pictures anyways so that’s not so important.I would like to see a version with a battery for recording when I’m parked but for this price range I’m not to bothered.Overall I feel more confident when driving knowing that if an accident then I can prove it’s not my fault and that there will be indisputable evidence to back this.Deserves the five stars I gave it.

Credit where it's due.
Installing this unit was no problem especially with the supplied tool, the item was easy to setup and gives a good clear view of the road ahead. unfortunately the camera, when hot, developed an anomaly and so I contacted the Miofive support service, they immediately resolved the problem (thank you Franklin Lo) and everything is now working as it should. In my opinion this is an excellent DashCam.

Image quality good, but a couple of small issues.
Image quality is good so long as you have a decent SD card fitted thats suitable for video. Only problem I've had is that the speedometer consistently shows a speed 2-3mph below what the vehicle's speedo shows, and I can work out how to fix it. Also, the mobile phone app is rubbish and frequently won't connect with the dashcam even when sat in the car and trying to connect via the frustratingly stupid QR code on the screen. Other than those small issues, it's a decent dashcam for its price range.
