** MY REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS **So far I have only read book 1 and 2. I will update my review after I have read book 3.Book 1 - There were several times I teared up. I absolutely adore Julia and Eddie’s characters, although I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters, including Kel and Caulder’s. It was lovely to see Will and Lake finally be able to be together. I also love how they love their siblings. I love Kel and Caulder’s friendship. This book was overall heartwarming and heartbreaking all in one.Book 2 - As some of the other reviews have mentioned, Lake does seem more childish in this book, especially in the beginning. You can’t really put that past her because she’s still a teenager. It’s kind of expected. Just not how she was portrayed in book 1. Eddie’s character doesn’t carry the same spunkiness as what was reflected in book 1. Could possibly be because she was pregnant? But we don’t get much dialogue from her in this book which was disappointing to me. Another disappointing theme, was the way Will used literal children to manipulate Lake. And the part where he messed with her car battery just so she couldn’t leave the house by herself? That was a major red flag for me. There were a lot of parts in this book where he should have left Lake to make decisions for herself, but yet he takes it upon himself to create the outcome he is looking for out of selfishness. I don’t like that he held Julia’s stars from Lake. I understand the note was written out to both of them, but Lake had every right to want her mother’s belongings back.Let me just say, I think it’s extremely weird Will waited so long and played this cat and mouse game with Lake in regards to finally having sex. I know he had a lot of respect for Julia, but I know very few rare men who would wait that long to be sexually intimate with their partner. Maybe that just emphasizes his love for Lake? I just thought it was strange. And he should’ve been honest about his ex Vaughn being in his class from the beginning. Lake was right when she told him he was only thinking about getting laid in that moment.A lot of people seem to not appreciate the car wreck chapters. I appreciated them because they showed how much love there was between all of these individuals, who show that love and family isn’t always “traditional.” Family doesn’t always mean blood. This book shows you, it really does take a village. These people truly care for and love one another, I think that’s so beautiful. I love the way Kel and Caulder stand up for their new friend Kiersten as well. I love Kiersten and Caulder’s growing love for poetry and the influence they’ve taken from Will. I love that Lake looks to Will to make the tougher decisions, as a man head of household should. You see their parental roles play out and it’s so sweet. Can we talk about Vaughn? And how childish she really was? Why did she ever try to get back with Will, attempted to manipulate him by saying he owed it to Lake to give her (Vaughn) another chance, almost ruined his relationship showing up to his house unannounced, just to turn around and start dating his “friend” Reece? I’m not sure why Reece was thrown into the story other than for being with Vaughn eventually. The part where Will blacks out and Reece is just magically living with him all of a sudden? It seemed so out of Will’s character.I also started noticing more in this book, that despite the fact Will does love his family and friends, he doesn’t seem to be there for Gavin as much as Gavin seems to be there for him. There were a lot of parts where Gavin could’ve used someone to talk to, or could’ve used better advice. Especially once he found out Eddie was pregnant. Will kind of dismisses the conversation because he’s too focused on himself and his own relationship. But I think we’ve already established that Will is selfish. It’s hard to hold it over him knowing how much responsibility he has and how young he still is.As some have mentioned in their reviews, there are parts that don’t read as if they’re coming from a real man’s point of view. It didn’t feel raw or vulgar. Not saying all men are like that. The best example I can give is Asa’s POV in Too Late (he’s a real POS, but he speaks like a man) My internal dialogue understood this books POV was from a man but it didn’t always feel like that which was also disappointing. It would’ve been awesome to read book 2 in both Lake and Will’s POV.Overall though, I did enjoy the book. It was not as horrible as some people made it seem. It was worth the read.Book 3 - As others have mentioned this book is repetitive and goes over most of the details from the first and second book. You do find out more little details with it being told from Will’s POV, and there is an epilogue. But other than that, I wasn’t a huge fan of this book and it took me a little longer to read because it was kind of boring. All in all though it’s good to see Will and Lake’s happy ending.

Colleen Hoover 2025
I haven't had the chance to read the books yet, but I’m delighted they arrived safely. I have every confidence that I will thoroughly enjoy them, as the author, Colleen, is truly remarkable. Having already read her two latest novels, *It Ends with Us* and *It Starts with Us*, I can attest to her incredible storytelling ability. I'm eagerly anticipating diving into these new works!
