I've been using a Cuisinart Grill/Panini Maker for a few years, but it's been wearing out, so when I saw this T-fal electric grill/sandwich maker/oven, I knew I had to give it a try.There's always a risk in purchasing appliances that do too many things. I usually prefer when they specialize in one thing, but the things this appliance does are all related, so I assumed it would work well.First, I love that the bottom plate slants, allowing the juices, grease, etc. to drop into the tray. My other panini maker only had a little spot on the back for grease, and often, it would drip out elsewhere. There is also a little grease tray in the back, so you're double-covered.Also, the removable plates are so appreciated! Cleaning is so much easier!I have not used all modes yet, but I'm excited to try the oven. I have a large family, so I usually cook larger portions of things, but I think this will come in handy for lunches or desserts.The entire thing opens up flat for BBQ setting and has a dial on the side that controls that. Unlike some similar appliances, this grill gets nice and hot and cooks quickly.Overall, excited about this small appliance and very pleased so far!

EDIT: Finally got in touch with customer service. They said they wanted photo proof it melted and photo proof of purchase to prove it was under warrant. The rep. I spoke with had not heard of trays melting before. They shipped me a replacement tray.Drip tray melted through on contact with hot grease dripping out. Got hot grease running down the wooden cabinets. Spent an hour trying to contact support to finally be told they closed and to try again later afte the hour wait. Tried to send online help to company via the Amazon help to blgwt a pop up that says this item only receives help via phone call. It is 5 weeks old.It cooked the food properly, but it is useless if it just dumps grease on your counter then runs down to the floor after filling under the unit with grease. Very gross to clean that.

The T-fal electric grill is absolutely perfect for my needs. I have been a Forman user for as long as I can remember, and it's a basic griller, and you are limited. But with the T-fal, you can open up your cookbook and cook so many dishes with ease—it's absolutely wonderful! Cleanup is what you think of first, but this is simple to clean by hand or with the dishwasher. I have tried with or without a cooking spray, and both ways, the cleanup was about the same. So a cooking spray is optional, or use it for more control of your flavor and cooking style......its limitless with this griller. As with any indoor griller, you will have smoke/odor, and yes, there is no way to avoid it. But the T-fal does not produce smoke or odors anymore than any other indoor griller. It will depend on your cooking preferences and what you are cooking as to the amount of smoke or cooking "fragrance" it has. But it's not bad at all, in my opinion. You will not be disappointed with this griller, especially if you are already using a similar type of indoor griller.

I bought a T-FAL. Unfortunately, it didn't work, but we worked with the website and got a full refund. So, I have no complaints. However, since there was a return, I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.

It’s not just a grill; it doubles as a panini press and sandwich maker. I did not have any challenge with storage because this has not left my kitchen counter. If you have a small kitchen space or living in an apartment and has very little room on your counter, you just have to be create with finding an extra space with you are cooking. Overall, I’m thrilled with this purchase. The T-fal OptiGrill has elevated my cooking experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality indoor grill.
