All three volumes of the treasure-seeking adventure mini-series. In 'The Lost Treasure of Ugarit' (2008), archaeologist and treasure seeker Jack Hunter (Ivan Sergei) travels to Syria to seek out priceless ancient artefacts buried by the Pharoahs, ending up battling with the Russian Mafia for the treasure and the glory. In 'The Quest for Akhenatens Tomb' (2008), Jack is informed that old flame and fellow archaeologist Lena Halstrom (Alaina Huffman) has discovered an obelisk in Egypt that may lead to the tomb of Akhenaton, the pharoah who raided Ugarit and stole its treasure along with the second piece of the Star of Heaven. After Jack deciphers secret symbols on the obelisk, he soon finds himself hunted by a group sworn to keep the location of the pharoah's last resting place secret. Finally, in 'The Star of Heaven' (2008), learning that his old adversary Albert Littman (Thure Riefenstein) has designs on the Eye of the Star of Heaven, Jack heads for Turkey, the last known location of the relic. Helped on his quest by local antiques dealer Nadia (Joanne Kelly), Jack soon manages to pick up the trail, only to be confronted by Littman's henchmen, leading to a deadly showdown in the lava fields of the Turkish mountains.

“Did your IQ drop in the last 30 minutes?” [Nadia Ramadan]
Although this appears to be three films it’s actually a 2008 Tv mini-series in three feature length parts; Jack Hunter and the Lost Treasure of Ugarit, Jack Hunter and the Quest for Akhenaten's Tomb and Jack Hunter and the Star of Heaven. The story begins with treasure hunter Jack Hunter stealing a stone tablet from a French Museum, which is then stolen from his mentor who believes it’s a map to an ancient secret weapon but is then subsequently killed. Jack then heads to Syria to get the tablet back, but it’s not that simple. How you approach this will be crucial to your enjoyment. It’s a budget Tv show with tongue in cheek humour throughout and realism is not the point, escapist adventure is. The picture quality is sharp, but the sound fluctuates wildly in the first two instalments while the dialogue is heavily clichéd throughout, as are the characters; Ivan Sergei plays the handsome but inept Jack Hunter, Nadia Ramadan [Joanne Kelly –Warehouse 13] provides eye candy and teasing love interest but there is no chemistry between the two, while the baddie is a blond German, Albert Littmann [Thure Riefenstein] who works for the Russians.Disc features are limited to play and scene selection only. Rated 12, this lacks sex and nudity, although there is some impolite name calling and cussing, and despite low level adventure ‘action’ violence, this remains afternoon matinee fare rather than late evening viewing and as such gets a grudging *****. Think of this more as ‘King Solomons Mines’ or ‘Romancing the Stone’ with a ‘Mummy’ spin rather than ‘Indiana Jones’ and you wont be disappointed. With some clever editing, this could have been a PG and a solid ***** view.

all action man jack
These three dvds form a trilogy which first aired as a mini tv series. they are all film length. Jack Hunter is an indiana jones type explorer searching for a ancient "laser type" weapon. There are goodies, baddies, and like all of these type of adventures, there is a sidekick and a girl involved too.The action in all three takes place in the middle east, turkey, egypt and other places full of sand and tombs. The story moves on apace, with it not getting too silly. plenty of action, car chases, gun fights, heroics etc. They are good entertaining viewing for the family.

Fabulous Hokum.
I've just watched all 3 parts of Jack Hunter and absolutely loved it. It's one story told in three parts, more a mini-series than 3 separate films, and is full of adventure. Although not mega-budget it still has some great effects and makes for extremely enjoyable entertainment. If you like films like National Treasure/Indiana Jones you should really enjoy this too. It has a good storyline, a ton of baddies and loads of fight/action scenes. Great value too. DVD set arrived promptly and in perfect condition - so an all round success.

A series for the fans but not viewers.
I do not know who Jack Hunter is. I have not read the books but the films was mixture of Indiana Jones and a detective series. Sadly both were written and acted below par as well as plots that was so ropey it makes Tarzan looks new. Mobile phones that are magically charged up in the desert. Guns that never run out of bullets and broken leg that suddenly heals and let the man run on it. As for a plot involving the NSA ( which operated in the USA ) where as the CIA has world wide brief. Then even worse we are suppose the believe that the Egyptians had lazers weapons, and that used them in war but got beaten by the Romans, Greeks, Persian and Israelis Yes how Odd ? Now that all good but that a shocker is that a man risk his life and takes on a secret sect that murders people for charity and the good of mankind. Right and there are fairs at the bottom of my garden(I do not have one ) This is just a series for fans and mainly fans.

Jack Hunter trilogy
I can honestly say that while I was nervous about this choice of box set once I had received it I put them on (one after the other til all three seen) and when all were finished I was slightly annoyed there wasn't anymore to see, the entire trilogy of films were absolutely engrossing - they sucked me in to the point that I did not want to pause them to do anything - I would definitely recommend this box set to anyone who enjoys action and adventure and even some comedy along the way.

Great Action Film Series
I first saw this trilogy on SKY but as we can`t receive it most of the time where we live I decided to order this DVD as it is great fun and I enjoy watching it again and again. It is along the lines of Indiana Jones, but set in modern times. It mixes adventure, romance, and sci-fi with good twists in the story.
