The rubber buttons that you touch all are molded into one sheet. Behind and inserted into the back of the buttons are a little contact. When you press the rubber button, it pushes the contact down to touch a corresponding contact on the circuit board. This contact in the back of the rubber buttons is what wears out over time. The repair kit is nothing more that another layer of the contacts sandwiched in between the rubber button contacts and the circuit board. In your case, if the rubber button along with the little contact fell off and is gone, then NO, the repair kit will not help you because you still need something to push down on so that the contacts activate the spot on the circuit board. If you still have the pieces that fell off, the first thing I would do is open up the remote and take the rubber button pad out. See if you can reattach the button to the pad with an appropriate glue (likely after cleaning the pad really well. If that will not work OR if the rubber pad has deteriorated, then look for a replacement remote online used. If anything you may need to buy the repair kit for the used remote, or you can make one good remote from your pieces.
