I bought this while converting my van into a camper, and it’s been absolutely flawless from day one. Performance: The voltage-sensitive relay does exactly what it’s supposed to — it kicks in automatically when the engine’s running and disconnects when it’s off, keeping both batteries protected without me having to think about it. I’ve tested it with a fridge, lights, and a diesel heater running off the leisure battery, and it’s been completely reliable. Installation: The kit came with everything needed, and the 8 metres of cable gave me more than enough length for a clean install from the alternator to the rear of the van. The instructions were clear, and the relay itself feels solid and well-built, not cheap or flimsy like some of the knock-off kits out there. Overall: If you’re doing a van or camper conversion, this is one of those plug-and-forget components — once it’s wired in, it just works. No voltage drop issues, no rattling, no overheating.

Absolutely NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. This kit is being sold as a 140amp VSR kit. NOTHING in this kit is rated at, or anywhere near suitable for 140 amps at 12vDC. The VSR unit is rated at a maximum of 80 amps. The fuses supplied are rated at only 60amps. The cable supplied is 7AWG (10.6mm2) which is capable of carrying around 60 amps over 1m or about 45 amps over the 8m of cable supplied. You put 140A through any of this and you will at best have blown fuses. If you put 140A fuse in, don’t be surprised if your system catches fire. By the time I got round to starting my project and noticing the under rated parts I was past the 30 day return slot so I’m going to have replace this unit with something man enough for the job. Don’t be fooled by the misleading title. Not happy.
