I first wrote the review following this one when I could not get the refills to advance fully in the pen. After reading a few reviews where they discussed the coating that was on the bottom of the refill so it wouldn't dry out, I inspected the refill again and found that the coating was on the bottom of the shaft as well. Once I scraped all of the coating off the shaft, the refill fit perfectly and wrote well.While these refills are supposed to be compatible with Cross pens, they are slightly shorter. The refill does extend out of the barrel, but only enough so that one needs to hold the pen virtually upright in order to write. Technically still usable.

my first transaction was a bust - they sent me an empty box. on re-order, i got refills in 2 days. they fit, they write fine, they are quite inexpensive. are they as good as real refills? prob not but that wasn't my expectation. i'd do it again.

These fit perfectly in my Pierre Cardin pen gifted to me over 20 years ago. I had not used this pen in a long time because it ran out of ink and I didn't know where to get the refills.The cartridges arrived in two days with minimal packaging. They are easy to change out and the ink is smooth. The only caveat is that you must remove the protective wax cover on the tip of the cartridge before you insert it into the pen.Since I write a lot at work, I go through a lot of pens. It's nice to have a more sustainable option that works well, feels good in my hand and is relatively inexpensive.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Looked like the ink in my pen, fit is identical but ink doesn’t flow as smoothly.

The only issue which needs attention!! The cartridges come with a mini wax seal on the tips. If you do not recognize this, they either will not write or will smear if you do not remove all the wax. Lucky for me I have a Jeweler's loop and could see this very well since it does take a good eye to examine the tip. I can understand their concern for freshness, etc.. but the wax presence will anger other buyers if they do not know about it or cannot deal with it. I used my nail to remove the wax but I suppose you could place the tip in hot water to soften the wax? No instructions on how to deal with this is a lapse on the sellers part.

These cross style refills are some of the best. Nothing compares to an actual Cross refill, but these are a very close second. The ink flows very smoothly, and the writing doesn’t have streaks in it like some other refills. Very good for the price.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I thought the pen refills were a good price. They must be old dried up stock. I have to scribble on cardboard to get them to write, then if your hands touch the paper it quits writing.
