Soft Claws: 2 Adhesive Glue Sticks & 6 Applicator Tips Extra Supplies for Canine and Feline

I saw these on Amazon and ask my vet about them since my cat scratches everything and climbs on every piece of furniture I own. He scratched wood top dressers, sharpened his nails on my expensive rugs and put holes in my leather furniture. He still used his scratching post but also liked everything else in the house. I had thought of declawing but that was so extreme and not recommended, so thought I would try this. Who ever came up with this product should be rich, it made life with kitty something I could live with now. Was very easy to put on, although kitty is good at holding still. Be careful not to get the glue on your fingers or anything other than the nail tips, nail polish remover is the only thing that will loosen your fingers from being stuck together. They stay on kitty's nails for weeks, I find them on the floor so know when one has fallen off, the nail grows and the tip falls off. I went for the clear color didn't want to call attention to the fact that he had tips on his nails. Only one negative, there isn't enough glue for all the tips in the package, had to buy more just to have more glue.

This adhesive works very well. Product stays on great.

Got these a few months ago, and when I tried to use today they were completely dried out. I suggest you use these immediately upon receiving. Tip also did not stay on securely.

But I still don't get how the applicator tips are supposed to work. The cap doesn't fit back on the glue tube with the tip on, but if you take the tip off, the glue dries in it (I tried washing it out) and it becomes unuseable after one use. Overall, the softclaws glue is good stuff- it hasn't hurt my cat even though she chews at it sometimes, and it holds the claw covers on very well. I guess the applicator tips are convenient for the first application, where you have to fill 10-20 of these covers, but I just throw them out now. I do love having extra tubes around; they tend to dry out fairly quickly, and while I've never gone through two entire tubes and had covers left over, I've come close, so having a couple extras around ensures I never have to use superglue or other potentially toxic stuff.

Our cat likes to use our furniture for scratching posts. We started getting claw shields put on him. Only one problem - we always ran short on the glue. Two tubes and additional applicators worked perfectly.It appears to be the same glue that came with the shields and they stay on!! If you want to put claw shields on your cat, IRe recommend that you get extra tubes of glue! It saves a lot of trouble and expense. No more buying new boxes of shields because you ran out of glue!

Soft Claws adhesive is basically super glue. As long as the claw caps are the correct size, the glue works very well. The caps won't fall off until the nail sheds. In fact, the cat scratches with the nail caps on and they wear down to expose the nail without falling off. My furniture remains protected from sharp nails, because the caps provide a more rounded surface that doesn't catch and pull the fabric like exposed nails would.To apply, I use the included applicator tips. I just put the glue in the caps and place the caps on the cat. I don't even have to hold the cat still for five minutes afterwards as the company advises.My only qualm with the Soft Claws is they never supply enough applicator tips. I used to try to reuse them, but that didn't work out. Glue would coat the tube or clog the tip of the tube. Eventually, I would be unable to fit the applicator tips on the tube because of the mess and I'd have to toss it. Now, I buy extra tips directly from the company. The tube doesn't get messy and I'm able to use up the entire tube before buying more._________________________UPDATE: I just realized that half the applicator tips that come in the bag do not fit the glue tube, which means only three of the tips are of use to me. This is the first (and hopefully last) time I've ever had this problem; but it is a problem, especially for those who don't buy extra tips. The glue tube is no good without the tips.

I got what I needed with this order. The soft claws package never has enough glue or tubes to put on the end of the glue and the lids on the glue don't close good so they always get dried out in the end. These replacements were helpful since I didn't have to order the entire package again and get too many nail caps.And in case you were wondering the same thing as me, I also tried to use regular super glue. For some reason this glue seems to work better. The caps seem to stay on longer. And if you get this glue on your fingers it comes off easier than the other super glue I tried.

I am so happy I found these! I love soft paws, but have always been annoyed with the glue. It dries up after one use (yes even if you follow the directions and put it in the fridge) this extra glue solves that problem and at a great price!
