Its definitely a messy bone. It basically crumbles as they chew. Which I wasn't expecting. But its probably safer as it won't splinter. Knuckle bones usually last a while with him.. But My Berner had this tore up into crumbles in about an hr. Even my cat wanted a taste of some of the crumbles when I first opened it. They both loved it. Our boy is 7 months old and has a sensitive tummy with certain things and this didnt cause any bad poo or sickness. And for only 2 bucks after the coupon attached it was worth it for a little treat for him. I just ordered another for him for Christmas =)

This thing shattered to bits almost immediately. Thousands of little, sharp shards. I threw them away and vacuumed up what I couldn't pick up. I didn't see how much she had already ingested. Until the next day, that is, when she was vomiting up pieces all over the house. I see some people have issues with these being too brittle and some don't. Not worth the risk in my opinion. She did like it but it didn't last and the pieces were too sharp, small enough to swallow but large enough to irritate her digestive system.

Our Kangal ate it in 2 days. It is like it's been pressure cooked. Breaks into pieces, but fine for big dogs. Off to find air dried.

Dogs love them! But they can break into pieces very easily which can cause your dog to choke
