Drowntown Paperback – 1 Jan. 1999

I’m a big fan of Jim Murray’s work. It’s a real shame there aren’t more volumes. Something of this quality really deserves better support. I’m embarrassed it took me this long to find it.

Well, have been trying a fair few non-superhero Graphics of late, some enjoyable and some less so, but this is RIGHT at the top. Intriguing story, interesting and fleshed characters throughout, absorbing future-look at the Smoke, and all done full justice by the superb art. Haven't enjoyed a story/book more for quite a while. Immediately on the look for other books by the Authors. Can't recommend highly enough - 5* insufficient: have re-read three times already, taking it all in. Just wish it was longer cos didn't want it to stop.Can't wait to see where Drowntown goes/what everyone is/has been up to (and more Rats riding an Alligator in the sewers please!) - Amazon state Book 2 being due in October 2014! Please say that's a typo - can't wait THAT long!?

Cool cover, cool story, cool personages. Great art. I'm instant fan!I never thought i would really like the story. Because a lot of times the art is great, but the story is disappointing. But not with Drowntown!

Highly entertaining story. Gorgeous painted artwork. This is work of a couple of very talented creators . Short but worth it.

This graphic novel is worth buying just for the artwork alone which is beautiful. Unfortunately the story itself is just a collection of well worn cliches with a hefty dose of wokeness and irritating political correctness thrown in, but - as I had mentioned - the artwork really carries it.

Robbie and Jim have created a gorgeous, very Ballard-esque take on a future detective story. Fabulous graphics, engaging script.Was tempted to deduct a star for the lettering (balloon tails wander- SERIF-ED 'I's in the middle of words- rookie error!) but no, it's fantastic.

Interesting beginning to a longer story with fun and well developed characters and above all amazing artwork. Based in a flooded London there are some fun nods to some local London history and culture

Good quality book. Pity there's not more in the series.

belle BD, les dessins sont extra j'adore : dommage qu'il n'existe pas une version frenchie mais bon le niveau d'anglais n'est pas non plustrop "high level" :) pour bien comprendre.

Excellent art, and an interesting start to the story. Waiting for the next volume.

The artist is one of my favorites from Magic the Gathering, I thoroughly enjoyed his first work in the comic book relm
