What can I say other than this is a superb investment in home security. We had tried Blink, and after a while, the entire system - indoor and outdoor cameras - failed to recognize our internet. Customer support was no help, so I started looking for replacements.And, as we've all heard of Ring, figured I would give it a try. First with the wired indoor camera. Picture was PERFECT. high quality and no issues connecting to the network. Got a second one for the other room and same thing. So, why NOT get the doorbell camera?Install was a breeze, only required drilling a larger hole to get the wiring through, and hook up and connection was outstanding. Actually had to turn the settings DOWN a bit because it picked up every little activity that took place in the range we had it set at.Being able to see, hear, talk, and record safely is a great feeling. And being able to tailor the settings, zone, and sensitivity is not only easy, it's intuitive.GREAT investment!

I purchased this one to replace my previous Ring doorbell, which unfortunately got lost during a move, and I’m so glad I did. The newer version with the Bird’s Eye View feature is incredible—it gives me such a detailed perspective and adds even more security to my home.It was super easy to install, and I really like that this model is easier to charge if you can’t wire it to your home. The improved battery life is another big plus compared to the previous model, although it does take several hours to fully charge. That said, once charged, it lasts a good amount of time.The motion detection is always up-to-date and reliable, and it connects seamlessly to my WiFi. It’s a fantastic addition to my home and makes me feel more secure. I’m such a fan of Ring products that I also purchased indoor cameras for the house, and they’ve been just as impressive. If you’re considering this doorbell, I highly recommend it—it’s worth every penny!

Update (11/22/2024)I currently have good signal strength to both of my Ring devices. My doorbell cam shows a relative signal strength of RSSI - 40 (which is very good). The Ring Chime Pro that is the closest to the doorbell cam shows a signal strength of RSSI - 63 (which is fair and adequate for video). But motion detection inconsistency remains. For example, just about 15 minutes ago as I type this a FEDEX delivery man left a package on my porch only about 3 or 4 feet from the doorbell cam. I received no indication of any motion detection in the app. And in fact there was no video of any motion. When I went out to retrieve the package, it recorded my picking up the package, but it labeled the video as package detection rather than motion detection. I have the motion detection sensitivity slider set to max and the detection zone larger than the porch area. It should have detected the FEDEX delivery man leaving the package. I will try setting the motion detection to a larger detection area (even though it is set to a more than adequate detection zone).Update (11/14/2024)A technical support person contacted me regarding my original review. He analyzed the issue with inconsistent motion detection with the doorbell cam (as well as my Spotlight Cam Pro). His conclusion was that if they had better WIFI signal strength they would perform better. So, I have installed a 2nd Chime Pro much closer to the front of my house where the doorbell cam is, and I moved the original Chime Pro further back, closer to the Spotlight Cam Pro. The signal strength of both devices have improved. Only time will tell whether better signal strength will equal more consistent motion detection.Original review:I have had the Ring Battery Doorbell now for several months. My impression is that it is a nice product that unfortunately is somewhat inconsistent in motion detection. Most of the time it successfully detects motion, but sometimes it obviously does not. On more than one occasion I have found packages on my porch sitting there almost directly in front of the doorbell, but no history of any motion detection. Somehow the package delivery person placed a package on my porch almost directly in front of the camera without being seen by the camera. It always seems to detect me when I walk in front of it. Yet, it is obviously missing some motion because delivery people are putting packages on my porch without the doorbell detecting them. That doe s not provide me with confidence in the security ability of the motion detection function of the doorbell.
