It is very informative, through read with great illustration. Covers 98% of Tungs points. Better to have several references for guidance to treat some uncommon diseases.

I have used this book in my clinic for more than 15 years. It has helped me set up a treatment strategy again and again when a new patient comes in a condition that I have not treated before. This book is designed for a busy practitioner who needs to set up a protocol quickly. There are two amazingly exhaustive indexes that make looking things up super easy and the recommended protocols are very effective. Many times I have thought "what am I going to do" and with help from Mr. Maher's book I ended up with me and my client (and my client's doctor) saying "that is amazing." Four caveats: The numbering system Maher uses is not the same as standard Tong texts. You will learn (if you use a medical dictionary) a lot about Western medical terminology. This advanced text will be more useful if you have had a good introduction to Tong style acupuncture. The spiral binding is a little worn after 15 years of constant use. When I first got this there were not as many Tong texts and now I have ten in my library and one on my Ipad but, this is still the most useful one I have.
