Amazing starter razor
This was my first razor I got when I first started shaving with a straight razor over a year ago. Since then, I've went on to use other razors, but often would come back to this one as it was just reliable. I now use a very premium dovo razor, but I do not recommend beginner to start with something like this. You needs to start off with something like this to learn to shave, strop, and to learn to sharpen.

Sharp enough to shave once
Worked just fine for the first use then I had to sharpen with the strop to use again. Information on sharpening would have been useful. After a few uses I feel the sharp corners on front and back are a hazard. I personsly rounded them down to avoid cutting myself any farther.

Decent weight, and already sharp!
I've been using a shavette and a DE safety razor to shave my head for a few years. I had bought a very low end straight razor, but it never kept an edge, needed constant sharpening and honing, and just wasn't that great.I saw this straight razor on Amazon pop up a few times, and thought, why not? It doesn't cost that much, and it seems to have some pretty good reviews.I've had this razor now for a few weeks, and here are my impressions.Pros:• The razor was already sharp and ready to shave upon arrival.• The steel seems of decent quality, and seems to hold an edge so far.• The razor itself has a good weight, so I don't feel like I have to push down at all to get it to shave.Cons:• The strop is very low-quality "pleather", and it feels pretty flimsy. Ideally, I'd like something real leather and a bit sturdier - not feeling like I could rip it in half before pulling it off the wall.• The pivot/pivot pin area feels a little loose. It could be tighter, and this leads to - it feels to me - having to readjust my grip whilst stropping and shaving as the handle moves around.Overall, I give this 3/5 stars for the price point, overall seeming quality of the steel and the blade, and the weight - with the cons keeping it from being 5/5 stars.

wont stay sharp
this thing cannot hold an edge one cut and worthless cannot even get back to razor sharp and i am a black smith but its the metal not the smith here or rather the lack of hardness of the blade to be able to hold an edge

Unfinished Razor
After 2 shaves with this razor the wood handle seemed to start to fall apart. The wood handle seem like it was not sanded down and finished. The scale spacer came loose while shaving. Fortunately I was able to glue and sand the handle and finish the wood with boiled linseed oil and beeswax. The metal razor part was of good symmetry, better than a gold dollar razor that I recently purchased. The razor was sharp enough for a close shave. Overall the handle was of bad finish. The razor was good and had no problems with it.
