2-1/2” Purdy 144380225 Nylox Sprig Paint Brush, Tynex Nylon

The is the best Purdy brush to paint latex trim. This one, the 2 1/2” is almost impossible to find at the paint store and big box hardware stores. It’s cleans up much better than the other Purdy brushes for latex paint.

I went thru about 10 brushes from various manufacturers and styles before settling on the Purdy brand. The paint seems to go on a bit smoother and more consistently than other makes. I used the Nylox blends for cutting in and trim work. I have only used the brushes with Latex and Acrylic so not sure how they would perform with oil based paints.They seem to hold up very well to repeated use and cleaning in both soap and water as well as brush cleaners. Even when accidently allowing the paint to dry, a soak overnight in brush cleaner and 10 minutes with a metal comb restored the bristles to almost as new.They do cost a bit more than most of the other makes, but the finish and quality make them a bargain in the long term.

I have used these paint brushes for years. When taken care of and cleaned properly, they will last forever! The shorter, wider handle fits perfectly in the hand and allows for smooth cutting in. When paired with a high quality paint, the job will look better and be quicker to complete.

I have used other Purdy brushes that have somewhat stiffer bristles but like a softer brush for cutting in trim, ceilings, etc. This brush is built well and fills that bill well and I am quite satisfied with it.

Used for finish coats of interior semi. Good,smooth application.

Nylox-Sprig brushes are the best for applying good quality enamels like Benjamin Moore's Aura and Muralo enamels. The bristles are the right thickness and placed at the right shape in the ferrule. This aids in avoiding streaking and brush marks when applying acrylics in fine finishing. This brush style is also perfect for general canvass painting with fine acrylics.I still don't like the fact that we can always count on Purdy's annual price increase.

I've been using these for years. My last one lasted for 20 years but you have to clean them after each use.

Another fine brush for the professional decorator. Very quick delivery and a must have.
