Excellent source of practice questions and great preparation for the chemistry component of the DAT exam. Large variety of challenging questions with detailed explanations. By reading the explanation, I really improved my understanding of the chemistry. In the past year, a few of my friends used other materials with mixed reviews. Here, I really benefited from this book and have told my friends that plan to prepare for the DAT about this series of study guides. I used the Sterling Prep biology book and was equally satisfied and impressed with the detailed explanations. Content of the chapters matches what is covered on the DAT. I used the online component of the material to refine my learning and see a diagnostic report of my progress from the practice.

I took the DAT recently and got my results. I am very happy with my scores, and science in particular. I used these gen chem practice questions to focus my studying. I had been reviewing the content for the DAT and needed to take practice questions to flush out my understanding for strengths and weaknesses. Very valuable material her (along with their Biology/biochemistry book). Highly recommend these practice questions to be sure that you are ready for the types of questions on the DAT. The explanations helped me reinforce and distinguish between similar choices. These also helped for those questions that I had not been exposed to from my preparation of the topics.

I used a few different books during the last year to get a solid foundation for the DAT chemistry sections. This book was the best because it had a large number of questions (5 choices like the DAT) sorted by topics and with explanations that made sense. I used the online component to sort the questions and target my studying even further. Was prepared, confident and got the results I needed on the DAT. Time well spent preparing for this important test. It is an important exam. Get the best book that I found to learn chemistry for the DAT.

Questions in the book are very similar to the DAT. Excellent practice to get ready for testday. Explanations really helped me review the fundamentals and add to my understanding of the material. Great book for the edge on the DAT. Questions and explanations prepared me for the test. Many questions I reviewed here were those that I didn't even know would be helpful on the actual test - glad I bought this book and worked the problems.

I learned many new concepts in chemistry from using this book. I needed the practice in chemistry and after using this book I was prepared for the DAT and this book is great. Many great questions similar to the DAT and the detailed explanations helped me learn more chemistry. After using this book I thought I was ready for the chemistry section of the DAT and this proved to be true.

This book has a lot of good practice questions that will challenge you if you are pretty rusty on g-chem. However, the explanations for some are not very good. Some don't really take a conceptual approach to the problem and others just have downright wrong answers. Thankfully, this is not consistent throughout the book, but when you do some across one of those bad questions, it does waste quite a bit of time.

The book is well written and the amount of material is great. I used the book to identify my strengths and weaknesses. I am much more familiar with the concepts and have increased my confidence. The volume of practice material is what my studying was missing. My friend took the DAT and he recommended the book. I'm glad that I took his advice and bought the book.

Book is pretty good for chemistry practice. Not quite as good as the biology one in my opinion. Lots of questions yes but they do tend to get repetative. There is only so many times you can ask how many neutrons ____ atom has. Nevertheless still some good questions (especially when you get to calculation based questions) that will help you along if you are studying for chemistry. Unfortunately, there are no explanations for the answers like they had for the biology book so you very much have to figure out where you went wrong yourself. Overall good for a final chem tuneup but would suggest fewer repetative questions and putting in an explanation section for some questions instead
