Worked instantly with my old midi keyboard!
I am a technically-challenged female, nearing 70 years old, venturing into Apple's GarageBand home studio recording software. The directions for connecting this from my '90s midi keyboard to my 2017 MacBook Pro were right on the box and worked instantly. How great that I did not have to: (1) Download a driver for this to work, (2) Change settings in my old keyboard for this to work, and (3) Change settings on the laptop for this to work. User reviews helped me select/purchase this. Plus, very affordable!

connection midi cable "IN" to keyboard "OUT" midi cable "OUT" to keyboard "IN"
had this keyboard that was begging to be played -- MIDI cable is good length - i used it only once and will update review accordingly. This worked on my late 90s casio keyboard (ct 670) and my Acer Aspire S7- and the flowkey "free" tutorial - i have not used it on the premium content where it's more than one note at at time.I set up a few audio and home theatre set ups where i matched colors on RCA cables-i tapped into that experience and mistakenly put the midi cable "IN" to the keyboard's "IN" and midi cable "OUT" to keyboard's "OUT" -- but this works more of a logical manner - midi cable IN to keyboard OUT and midi cable OUT to keyboard IN.anyway the cable appears to be well built - there is an indicator light that the power is flowing or it is connected via USB - i see some blue LED flash once - but mostly the red LED is on constantly if it is plugged into the computer. blue i believe means it is receiving MIDI signals.i'll use this some more and update this review.Just used a couple of days for about 4 hours (2 days) on Flowkey and it worked pretty flawlessly so far with my Casio ct -670 61 key keyboard. No complaints so far.I noticed that when I press on the key and the signal is successfully psss through to Flowkey the blue LED lights up. The red light is constant as long it’s plugged into a USB port it basically means it is receiving powerthanks for reading11/12/19 -So far working well with flowkey and my Casio ct 670 keyboard12/2/19 still working fine- using it with flowkey premium since 10/27 and it has held up.

Lets me use my keyboard with FL Studio
I have a Williams Overture piano for composing and drafting and a miniature MIDI keyboard for inputting into FL Studio. It took me a year to connect the dots and say “Hmm, what if instead I just connect my piano straight into FL Studio.” This works for me. Just simply plug the cables into the back and into my laptop and it’s plug and play. The original sounds on my piano aren’t that pleasant to listen to but now I get to practice with gorgeous VSTs like a sampled Bosendorfer or orchestral harp.

Failed within 6 weeks
Worked great, but failed within 6 weeks. I requested a replacement and am still waiting for it 6 weeks later.

Latency
I like that it's plug and play, but there's a little Latency between me pressing on the keys and response. It's not because of the computer because I have an audio interface for audio i/o. I have used USB controllers and they have no latency, but this midi cable does. It's not a great amount, but it's noticable to me. Also the volume for some reason also decreased dramatically - I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot this issue.

Solid value with decent quality build
I am not a professional musician and bought this MIDI cable interface for use with two synthesizers I own. They seem to be solidly build (not as thin cables as I expected) and I like the light feedback provided when information is being sent or received through the cables. They appear to be well made and were reasonably priced. The cables were recognized and immediately interfaced with my Casio keyboard (did not test with a better keyboard at another location but assume will work just as well) on my Macbook Pro. Happy after a week of use.

Works Great
Plugged my Casio keyboard into it on a window 7 computer system and with Addictive Keys I had a really cool sounding keyboard. The cord could be a little longer for my tastes but I can deal with that. One hint to people, the IN goes to the Out and the Out goes to the In on the keyboard. i.e. you are taking the output of the keyboard into the input of the computer and the output of the keyboard to the input of the keyboard.

Sysex success!
It's a good cable, but you have to take care of it. My main purpose was to send sysex patches, and I successfully did it. Thank you!

Works great with my Yamaha keyboard and Garage Band
Works great with my old Yamaha keyboard, I just plug it to my macbook and use it with Garage Band. I can finally record my progress learning to play :)Just note that you need to plug the IN of the cable to the OUT of the keyboard (and the OUT of the cable to the IN of the keyboard). I spent a few hours realising this...

Well worth the money
Excellent product! It was a breeze to connect and start using it. No latency even with multinote chords. It handles different velocity levels well and all sounds are very responsive and clear. The product was delivered within the estimated time frame (international).
