hand2mind Numberblocks Blockzee Balance Activity Set, Ages 3+

My students are OBSESSED with Blockzee and choosing it over all the other toys at playtime. I really love how it makes the greater and less than signs, it’s such a neat tool for teaching comparisons. The only issue I have is that it doesn’t come with many number blocks so I supplemented with a set I bought separately- also Hand2Mind brand. The other ones have faces on plastic squares that clip to the blocks and those squares are heavy enough compared to the weight of the cube that they mess up the balance and skew the results. So if you want it to be accurate you can really only use the blocks that come with this specific set. Still, totally worth it

My son just turned 4 and he has been really into watching Number Blocks. I bought him this set and he loves it! He loves piecing the characters together and putting them on the scale. The characters are super cute and look just like the show. Everything seems super durable and well made. It could be used as a toy or educational purposes! Highly recommend!

This is such a fun learning toy as most of the number blocks toys are. At 4.5 my daughter is mostly exploring it, but it will be very valuable as she gets older, learning the symbols ><= is sturdy as well.

My son loves number blocks! This helps him see which numbers are bigger . It has also helped with his subtraction and adding .

Great gift for Numberblocks lovers. It is well made and kids can understand the concepts of less than, greater than and equal.

Pros: The Numberblocks Blockzee Balance is cute, and my son loves the character. The balance reacts to show greater than, less than, and equal, which makes it fun to watch. The set comes with 61 MathLink Cubes for building Numberblocks 1 through 10, plus 20 activity cards, a sticker sheet, and a dry erase marker. The cubes are colorful, and the activities give us plenty of ways to practice comparing numbers and early addition and subtraction. Cons: For us, the balance was too frustrating. My son likes to stack his figurines, and once they get past 4, they become tall and clunky. They are hard to fit into the weighing baskets, and the uneven weight knocks the clear buckets off the balance. Each time that happened, he got more and more upset, even when we tried to teach him to take the blocks apart so they would weigh better. I ended up putting it away for a while. He still likes Numberblocks toys in general, but I don't think he is ready for this one yet.

I waited several months, and finally snagged this on sale. I am so glad that I did because my kids have really enjoyed it. It seems sturdy and well made. The eyes and mouth both tilt towards the heavier side. I have a 7 year old, 4 year old, and 2 year old and they are all obsessed with the Number Blocks show. Which is fine by me, because the 2 year old can count to 8, and my 4 year old is adding and subtracting 20+ numbers. My 7 year old has a much better grasp of math in general and a different way of thinking of it. We got them the “figures” like the actual Number Block show characters, and I find that the 2 year old plays the most with them. My 4 year old is primarily interested in creating his own numbers with the little cube blocks, and not the show characters. He has no interest in the face stickers that come with the small blocks, because he is constantly taking the numbers apart and creating new ones. He LOVES the set of blocks that came with the number sheep and the separate train set. Blockzilla (which is the green weighing monsters name in the Number Block show) is a great addition to our set and has gotten daily use in our house. Even with some rough play, he is holding up! I hope that the company introduces a Big Tom toy too.

I love this so much because it’s amazing at teaching students the concept of greater than, equal to, or less than. I think all students can benefit from the visual it gives and the manipulatives paired are amazing. The only tiny complaint I have would be the manipulatives being a bit difficult to push together/pull apart-but that’s good fine motor practice anyway. It’s absolutely one of the best centers I’ve bought all year for my kindergarteners/first graders to use.
