Great magnifier! Has everything my 82 y/o parent w cataracts was looking for. She liked it so much that she showed it to another family member who wanted one too.Key features that we especially liked:. Light-weight __easy to handle & move around, almost feels cheep at 1st, but it's functionality won us).. Large size __ allows one to read across an entire page (& more) at a time. I think this square viewer makes more sense than the round ones, for seeing across a page efficiently.. Handle is moveable __ very useful to easily tuck away for transport/storage or position where you want.. Good lighting choices __ Very bright white, medium & yellow hued (she reported that yellow was warmer/more comfortable at night).. Easy battery management (3 AAA, not included) __ in the handle (just slide down battery door & lift)This was an unexpectedly, excellent find, which I initially selected on the chance that it might be useful. It ended up being great! Very good value for the price too ($17).

I like the size

One of my eyes has developed Macular Degeneration. So there’s always a distortion when I have to read the usual small print. This magnifier is a great help, and I don’t bother with batteries yet. Because its plastic, there is a bit of distortion but it’s okay for my simple needs, and I appreciate the low cost.

This 5X Magnifying Glass with LED light is a game changer. The handheld magnifying glass has allowed my mom to see and read her bible and the newspaper easily. Due to her failing eyesight, the magnifying glass and the LED light combo continue to allow her to read. The magnifying glass is light and easy to hold. The light is long-lasting. There are 3 LED lighting modes to help meet each of your reading needs. The rubber-wrapped handle is non-slip and durable and can be folded for easy carrying. The lens is made of acrylic which is shatter-proof and scratch-proof, and is lighter than the glass lens to ensure long-term use without fatigue.

I think everyone should have one of these in their home. You don't have to be elderly to make good use if this magnifier. It is great for reading those extra small fonts on instruction sheets, medications, or finding those tiny objects that get dropped. The three way light is great, especially the softer warm light. It's lightweight is great when using it for an extended time. 3 AAA batteries that you can find just about anywhere. Also that the handle folds for easy storage is another appreciated feature. I think we need to get another for when we are traveling. Good purchase.

Too Large

I'm not sure if the magnification is 5x as noted in the writeup but it is sufficient enough to allow you to read very small print. And the light makes the print pop so it makes it even easier to read the print. The magnifying glass has 3 light settings (cold, warm and mixed) so you can pick the one that works best for you. What impressed Grandma was the size of the glass (she's been unsuccessfully using one of those small round glasses), the handle which helps her hold the glass, and the lights. She was thrilled that she will be able to read the newspaper again. I found all of these features great as well, but I don't think I'm getting this magnifying glass back, so I'll be getting myself one too!

I'm highly dependent upon using magnifying glasses for some written material, particularly small-print or glossy magazines. Up until now, I've been using those round, Sherlock Holmes-style magnifying glasses, where I have to move the magnifying glass from side to side when I read, like a detective looking for clues. This square design of these glasses is brilliant. It takes in most or sometimes all of a column or page, minimizing the need to move back and forth. Using the magnifying glass is instinctive - which is very helpful because, ironically, I needed the magnifying glass to read the small-print instructions. The three AAA batteries required to power the light fit nicely into the handle. (The batteries are not included.) There are different shades of lighting, so you can set it to adjust to your surrounding light and visibility. Nice product overall.
