Easy-to-use and tasty yogurt starter.
Yogourmet has been around forever. It's a dry powder that comes in little packs each of which will easily culture one batch of yogurt. It keeps perfectly well and won't go bad on you. I personally have a slight preference for using fresh yogurt for my culture but of course fresh yogurt WILL go bad on you if you don't use it soon enough and anyway I don't always even have any fresh yogurt to start with. Yogourmet to the rescue. I always have some packs around. Rip one open, dump it in and you are ready to go. It is always reliable, never fails, and tastes good. If you like yogurt you should definitely keep a box of this around. Live cultures.

Strong flavor
The probiotic version of this yogurt starter works perfectly well, but the resulting yogurt has a very strong flavor that you might not be used to if you’ve been eating store bought yogurt with the usual two to three cultures. There’s a reason that people take probiotics in capsule form.

Excellent Starter for Authentic Indian-Style Yogurt (Dahi)!
I had a hard time finding Indian yogurt cultures and decided to give this brand a try (along with a few others). After testing 5-6 freeze-dried brands, I finally landed on this one, and I'm so glad I did!Indian-style yogurt (Dahi) is not easy to find in the U.S. Yes, you can get it at Indian grocery stores, but the consistency is just not the same as homemade. With this culture, I can create one batch, and while I don't consume that batch, the second batch made from the first is absolutely perfect! How I Make It:1st Batch:Use 2 cups of milk, heat in the microwave for 2:30 minutes, and let it cool for 20 minutes.Leave it to set for 8-12 hours in the oven with the oven light on.Afterward, place it in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.2nd Batch:Use 6 cups of milk, heat for 3:30 minutes, and let it cool for 20 minutes.Use half the yogurt from the first batch, and mix it vigorously into the milk.Let it set in the oven (with the light on) for 16-20 hours.Refrigerate for at least 8 hours. This process produces yogurt with a great consistency and a nice tart flavor. While the taste of the first batch may not be exactly to your liking, it serves as an excellent culture for subsequent batches. If you're looking for authentic homemade Dahi, I highly recommend this brand!

Love the Yogurt it makes
I’ve made several batches of plain yogurt using ultra pasteurized half and half with many different probiotics over the past couple of months. This one makes a smooth and mild yogurt after being cultured for 8 hours. I’d guess it is packed with probiotics by the way it solidifies and its texture. Very little smell and very little sourness. I’ll let it go substantially longer to check the results, but 8-9 hours has worked great. The longer it goes the more probiotic –to a certain point anyway.

Repackaging Very Poor -- Hope Product Has Not Chaned in Quality
I have used this product for years and love it. I eat Yogurt everyday sand prefer to make my own to cut down on sugar content. Yogurmet 3g Packets are great when combined with Powder Milk and Organic Milk.BUT just received new packaging and it's horrible -- I cannot read one word on the packaging due to bright green packaging and terrible color selected for print.I even tried shing a flashlight on the package and couldn't read it. My only hope is I received correct product from Yogurmet.I am sorely, sorely disappointed in Yogurmet for their packaging selection.
