Works great
I received the cable and CD, unfortunately I do not have a CD drive so I emailed support and they promptly responded with instructions in 3 hrs. Even before they responded, I googled and was able to find v18 Tech stream software and the necessary drivers and instructions (on Google and YouTube) The instructions online were the same as sent by the vendor btw. Installed it on a win10 home 64bit laptop with zero issues, and it's working great. I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about? Yes it takes a few steps to installed and for those who are not savvy with computers the vendors offers to remote install, that's how tech support works guys, there is no conspiracy here Great product😆 great vendor, I can access all of my vehicles data, program tpms, keys, what not.

Great Tech Support Makes The Difference
tl/dr; Great (and patient) tech support got me going after a couple false starts. Got the standard disc and, since my laptop has no CD drive, copied the files from my desktop to my laptop. First problem was that I couldn’t connect to the vehicle. I got a pop up that said a critical update was required, and there was no way to dismiss the pop up. An email to tech support got a response within minutes recommending a reinstall. With that done, another problem cropped up. This problem was that, when connected to the vehicle, several of the selections, including the UTILITY function, were not available. This was the specific capability I was looking for since I want to add another remote key and customize the windows and light timings. Sent another email and they had a link for a different Techstream version to me within a few more minutes. I thought I was home free at this point, but ended up being unable to extract the archive. My RAR extractor would freeze about half way through. Another email and they asked me to set up teamviewer so they could remotely install the new version of Techstream. I know that there have been comments about teamviewer = malware, but it’s not always true. I’m the “tech support” for my family and have been using teamviewer to remotely control/maintain my family’s computers for years. It’s not the tool. It’s how it’s used. Anyway, teamviewer was already installed and I know what needed to be done, so I followed their activities keystroke by keystroke. They performed the necessary work and nothing more. There was no snooping or unnecessary reconfiguration of any computer settings. Techstream now works exactly as it should. Call me satisfied.

It works with a Mac in a virtual machine environment.
Update: The cable does not support adding TPMS sensors. This is a deal breaker. This is a great tool if you have a Toyota product (Toyota/Lexus/Scion) and work on it yourself. I was able to get it set up and running on a MacBook Pro running VirtualBox and Windows 10 64-Bit. Cable is sturdy, loads fast and is the new firmware version. LuckyBuy11 has been a good vendor.

It works well with Toyota: Installation steps for Win 10 64 listed
On the CD there is a video tutorial, which is not too easy to follow. There is also manual.txt file with instructions which are not accurate or clear. I am giving this product 4 stars because the installation instructions are not very good. I have outlined the steps which worked for me in Win 10 64. Installation procedure for Techstream and Mini VCI Cable. Assuming your CD Drive is the “D” drive. When references are made to the “D” drive, I am referring to the CD drive. 1. Run the video codec file ”vlc_2.2.4.0” located at “D:\Video”. Then run the tutorial video “WIN8 64 MINI VCI EN VIDEO”located in the same directory. It is difficult to follow, but the steps below should help guide you. 2. From the CD read the file d:\Manual.txt 3. Decide if your PC is Windows 64 or 32 bit. I am now referring to a selection of Windows 64 4. Disable your Antivirus program 5. Have Java installed 6. At the path “D:\Software\WIN7 8 10 64bits” run “Techstream_Setup.exe” 7. When Techstream _setup has completed installing, go to the path “D:\Software\WIN7 8 10 64bits\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\bin” and copy the file “MainMenu.exe” 8. Paste the file “MainMenu.exe” at the location “C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\bin”. If there is an existing file with the same name, replace or overwrite it. 9. Copy the directory “Xhorse Electronics” at “D:\Tool\backup” and paste it in the directory at “C:\Program Files (x86)”. 10. Run the file “MVCI-64bit” file at “D:\Tool\backup”. This file will make an entry in your Windows registry. 11. At the directory “D:\Software\WIN7 8 10 64bits\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\bin” open the file “SN.txt” and copy the registration key number listed in the file. 12. Start the Techstream software. Select your region, if North America you can use “1” for the Dealer Name, Dealer Code, Dealer Phone. This was shown in the video. 13. You might want to disconnect from the network/Internet at this stage. 14. In Techstream select the “setup” tab and then “VIM Select” and select the “XHorse MVCI” adaptor cable. Go to the “Registration” section and paste the registration key you copied in Step 11. 15. Plug in the Mini VCI cable in the USB port. In Windows “Device Manager” you would see the USB to Serial cable added as a COM port. Select this port and choose “Update driver”. Select the path for the driver to be “C:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics”. Windows may say the best driver is already installed. 16. Connect the OBDII cable end to your car’s port. In Techstream you can now select Connect to your vehicle.

Quality and cheap
This is a good quality cable . It arrived on time and works great . Have not had any issues out of it and I use it on a 2018 Toyota tundra and have used it on Lexus also . I recommend this .

Techstream only works for awhile
Unable to reconnect to car. Get registration popup and unable to go further. Apparently registration code provided only works for a while. Unreliable. Not worth the time and trouble. Spent way too much time with support to have remotely updated software which now no longer works.

Spend the extra money for this cable...
If you are looking for a techstream cable and have a newish car (mine is 2019 for example) I'd spend the extra money and get this cable with the 2.0 firmware instead of the others online that are cheaper but are 1.4 firmware. I bought a 1.4 firmware first and it didn't work with all the functions of my car. It'd crash the software when trying to read engine live data and it wouldn't program keys. I upgraded to this cable and everything just works now. Worth it and I wish I knew this ahead of time.

I was able to read the error code from my Prado, but unfortunately, there was no option to calibrate the steering angle sensor. As a result, I had to take it back to the dealer for calibration. Quite disappointed with the product.

Please do not buy. I finally have time to use it as my car came up with error light so I needed Techstream to diagnose the situation. Unfortunately the installation is for windows 7. WON'T WORK on modern computers running Windows11. Support has been slow and unhelpful after several weeks at this point.

The firmware is version 1.4, not 2.0 as advertised. This caused my dashboard to light up like a christmass tree with faults. This was on Toyota Crown Hybrid GWS204

There was a video attached for instructions partially in Chinese that was for a previous version of Techstream. Techstream asks for a product key but no key provided, “patch” provided on disc but it is just a shortcut file without any actual patch. Messaged for help and advised I needed a product key and the reply was “ok” and chat ended.
