I purchased this to replace the movement alarm for my Yanmar 5 ton excavator (2003), obviously it didn't fit perfect and I had to make wiring alterations, plus I cut the old plastic mounting part off the old alarm and plastic welded it (using plastic ties built up) and heated the old mounting plate into that plastic for mounting. Overall I made it fit the space and it works great. An OEM horn would be a HUGE increase in price -but to be fair I didn't price it - just knowing that ALL OEM excavator equipment is Huge in price, likely around $300, so for me, this was worth the work and I am happy with this purchase. Now, if it fails, I know where to get another one. For me, five stars as it fit the covered space and has good sound

I have a home automation system that includes water leak sensors. I wanted a better alarm sounder so this unit fits the need. I use a rule to automate turning on this alarm via a WiFi A/C outlet with a power supply plugged in. I am running it 7 DC volts in instead of 12 to reduce the volume level (for use inside my home). As a bonus, the unit is weather sealed so that a plus for its location near a sump pump.
