Effective, comfortable, affordable.
Over all, these worked very well. The construction is not incredible, but they didn't give me any issues while in use Upland bird hunting in San Diego County. Difficult terrain with cactus, buck brush, big rattlesnakes etc...everything growing has a defense mechanism. The gaiters got me through without incident walking at times through cactus. Performance, 5 stars. Construction, 4 stars. Price, 4 stars. The attachment point of the cable loop isn't designed/constructed very well. Although it stayed in place, it became twisted outward so the T was not flush against the boot. Additionally the cable loop adjustment strap didnt stay in the excess strap loop. Velcro square stitched in will secure it in place. The panels inside are thick enough to provide that necessary protection against thorns, etc...Worn with Irish Setter boots, 8" rise. The product image of gaiters on boots is very accurate.Good fit. Good value. Good results. Good purchase.

Cheap and easy and fits well
Cheap and easy, fits wonderfully no crimping or pinching, I haven't had a snakes bite them but they passed the needle test with flying colors. The very thin plastic panels inside are tougher than I anticipated and could easily stop a BB gun. If you looking for cheep solid safety form snakes these are it, CHEAP is the key word I only plan on using these a few times a session when the threat of snakes is highest when out metal detecting, the leg buckles are the cheep kind of plastic so don't pull to tight, the under shoe wire is nice, but the cheep leather straps holding the wire in place feels like it won't last long but time will tell. Probably easy to fix with a few staples to attach some stronger straps and better buckles and they could last a few years . As is they are good for a few adventures and could save your life but if you need something for daily use right out of the box look elsewhere, for a weekend warrior like me they are perfect.

CUT OFF THE BOOT STRAP WIRE!!
So are the chin guards amazing? I will let you know if I get a snake strike. Are they safe as-is?? ABSOLUTELY NOT! PLEASE!!! Cut off the strap that goes under your boot. The Velcro straps hold their place and I’m grateful but this morning while using my chain saw after only the third use of these guards the “under boot” strap broke on my right guard. I stepped on it and stumbled (like a loose shoe lace) and fell to the ground with a 16 inch chainsaw in play! For those who don’t know chainsaws don’t stop immediately when they are dropped or the handle is released. The positive: if I’ve cut off my right boob perhaps the Amazons would take me as a worthy candidate. The negatives, the stupid bootstrap of crap Chinese quality could have created a wound that killed me. Who the hell cares about a snakebite if you were tripping around a working chainsaw. Cut off the boot strap. I will do an update if I have any other negative reviews about the shinguards. I wish America created this product, they do not.
