Good Helmet and good Halloween costume! :D
This helment is made to fit an adult. Other customers bought it for younger children and said it looks awkward, which it does. My 15 yr. old son wore the helmet with the "deluxe" Clone Trooper costume for Halloween and got a lot of praise. People actually stopped him on the street to take pictures of him! If you want your older child to look like a realistic Clone Trooper, you should buy this item. You don't need to stick with the cheap helmet mask that comes with most costumes. The helmets at the costume shops cost about $49 and does not have a voice changer, they also are not made to last. The quality of this helmet is excellent. Buy it from Amazon, it will arrive in pristine condition as opposed to the helmets on display at the stores which are covered with sticky germs with the boxes ripped to shreds.

Wish I had one as a kid...
I have to say, this is a cool helmet. The built in voice commands are great and the voice changer is nifty too. I love that it has an adjustable feature inside so as your child grows, you can adjust it to fit...it is not the generic "once size fits all."On the downside, this was not the easiest thing to assemble and the microphone inside is a little low.If you have a child who likes Clone Wars, this is a great buy. I know my boy will get hours of play out of this.

No head strap
So I bought this for near $40. And I had concerns of the helmet being poorly built and what not, but I just wanted a clone trooper helmet. When it was delivered to my house, I noticed that the head straps were missing. And this is the key component to making the thing fit your head. Without it, the ceiling of the helmet would drop all the way down to the top of your head, giving it the bobblehead looking appearance. Yes, I would've given this item a 0 star because the helmet didn't come with a helmet strap, and you would look ridiculous with the thing. My wonderful girlfriend made a stuffed pillow to put inside the helmet, and by doing this, the helmet would fit my head perfectly. So even though this item provided no head strap, if you can find a small pillow from anywhere, you could rock the look of the helmet. In the end, the helmet doesn't look that bad on the outside. Even though it was used, it still look good in terms of condition wise. The voices it came with the helmet is still functional. The voices are from the series Clone Wars, and it has a decent volume. It does require double A batteries. The voice changer isn't that great. In fact, when you talk, the helmet just adds a static noise to your voice and nothing more.If your helmet doesn't come with a head strap, all is not loss as you can just add a small pillow and place it in the back of the helmet. This will act as your head strap. Now my head is 57.7cm. That's 22.7 inches, in other words. So this helmet may look big if you have a small body. I'm about 5 feet and 7 inches, so it looks decent on my body size. The only purpose I have for this helmet is to wear it and show it off. I don't use the voice commands or the voice changer because it sounds annoying and has too much static with it.

The Boys love it
We decided to get this helmet for our 4 year old's halloween costume, rather then spend $15 for some cheapy costume mask. Yes, it required patience to get out of the box, but most toys do. Yes, it required even more patience to snap the pieces together, but following the directions help, and I found that when putting together the top and bottom of the back piece, if I slid the outside notches in on each side first, rather than doing the middle first, it worked out much better and made things alot easier. Then it was easy enough to apply pressure to the middle to snap it together. Putting together the front and back was pretty straightforward and did not require as much muscle. My youngest son loves this helmet alot, and yes he does look like a bobble head, but with proper fitting of the multi-adjustable strap, it fits him comfortably and stays on his head with normal movement. We ended up buying a second one for our 7 year old, and the experience I had with the first, cut down the assembly time to under 5 minutes. Since I had read of problems a few others had with these staying together, I took care to assemble both correctly, and as a result we have had no issues with them coming apart and find them to be very sturdy. The voice amplification microphone has to be pretty close to your mouth to really work properly, but the kids don't seem to care as much about that feature as they do the preprogrammed sayings.

Do not buy this helmet
My son was very excited about buying the helmet. He wanted to wear it for Halloween. First of all the helmet did not stay together well, when you put it together. Second, the helmet does not fit ANY child (or even an adult) properly. Your eyes do not reach the window, your chin does not reach the chin rest and you can't press the botton inside the helmet to make the voice changer work. This is true even though they give you a plastic adjuster to try to make the helmet fit. The helmet is huge and awkward. In addition, the voice changer does not really change your voice. It just makes a static sounds that plays over your own voice. We were extremely disappointed in the helmet, especially since my son was expecting to wear it for Halloween. If I had kept the reciept and the box I would have returned it. Please don't waste your money on this purchase.

Review of Star Wars Clone Helmet
It's a decent toy for the price. The problems are that it goes together like a clam shell and if you drop it, it tends to pop apart at connection points. Also, it boasts an electronic voice altering feature that really doesn't do anything.
